A must listen audiobook!
- By PD on 19-04-19
Publisher's Summary
Bowhunter and ultramarathoner Cameron Hanes narrates his audiobook with guest appearances from Joe Rogan and David Goggins. Listen in to push beyond your physical limits and improve yourself by following Hanes's lifelong philosophies and disciplines.
“It’s all mental.”
I say this all the time, and it’s true.
If you believe you can do it, you can.
We all have virtually limitless potential.
Our bodies are capable of so much more than what we ask of them.
Take off the mental handcuffs, get out there, and start on your way today.
What is your passion? You can become better at it.
Committing yourself to fitness only fuels your beliefs.
You gotta believe to achieve.
Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills. He would need the stamina and strength that could only come from an athletic training regimen of long-distance running and heavy-weight lifting. And every day for more than thirty years, Cam has put in the work, building miles and muscles, pushing through pain with a single-minded focus on the only goal worth having—besting himself time and again.
Part memoir, part motivational manifesto, Endure reveals how Cam—a self-professed average guy—put himself through the paces to live the life of an expert bowhunter, respected writer, and family man. With discipline, sacrifice, resilience, a hard work ethic, and a belief in his own capabilities, Cam not only accomplished his dreams but continues to surpass them. There is no secret to his success except relentless determination and loyal dedication to his own self-worth.
If Cam can do it, we all can. Everyone has what it takes to endure adversity so we can rise above average, be the best we can be, and enjoy living life to the fullest.

Great story but hunting is a luxury, not a burden
He tells this story as if he was struggling, while leaving his responsibilities behind and hunting, weeks on end. Yes, you are correct, if we all ignore our families/responsibilities and go do what we love the most, we will be great at it...
that being said, I will be trying to use his discipline as motivation in my life

No substance in his writing
There was no substance to his stories and I gained nothing from the 75% of the book I listened to. I couldn’t take any more of his low rent David Goggins-esk whining about “haters”.

Monotonous
This book is a poor man's version of Can't Hurt Me, by David Goggins. As others have pointed out, it's a poorly written autobiography where the author practically repeats the same thing every 15 minutes for 7 hours.

One dimensional message packaged in negativity
The guy has worked hard and achieved elite status in his passion (bow hunting). To do so he has sacrificed a huge amount but believes it to be worthwhile.
The issue with the book however is that that is all there is. The same message over and over. Those that have a different priorities are failures. Anyone who has a different perspective is a troll, and although he doesn’t care about trolls a large portion of this audio is devoted to whining about them.
It’s not an inspiring book as it’s so smug about how the author is simply better because he sleeps less and works hard.
I intend to look for motivational books with a lot more positivity. I think I’ll try Matt Fraser next…

Super Dull
I read this after finishing David goggins last book. Seeing names like goggins and rogan attached I assumed this was going to be good. Super dull, boring life story and endless stories about bow hunting that might interest people who share the hobby but not me. What a waste of a credit and hours of my life, I couldn’t even finish it.

Cheap Goggins wannabe
I wouldn t recomend the book, he only brags about himself and his haters noting really special about it. Plus he sees himself as a tought guy, but preys on defenseless animals and boasts about loving to kill them, not a good read at all for a loving person

A masterpiece.
This is one of those life-changing books like 'You Can't Hurt Me' by David Goggins or '12 Rules for Life' by Jordan Peterson.
Cameron Hanes is such a humble well spoken writer who truly immerses you in the story, you feel like you are alongside him hunting.
This book inspires anyone reading it to become the best version of themselves.
