Der namenlose Ich-Erzähler ist seines Lebens überdrüssig und verbringt viel lieber Zeit in seinen Träumen, wo er durch eine Traumlandschaft reist. Dort gelangt er schließlich an eine Mauer mit einem verschlossenen Tor und er weiß instinktiv, dass sich dahinter ein Traumland befindet, aus dem es kein Zurück mehr gäbe, wenn er es einmal betreten hätte.
