Publisher's Summary

Danielle and Wes have been best friends since college, so when Wes needs a date for his sister's wedding and Dani needs a partner for her company's retreat, they devise the perfect plan: a fake engagement to get through both events unscathed.

Adrenaline-junkie Wes can prove to both his ex and his family that he's well and truly moved on, and serious-minded Dani can prove to her boss that she's worthy of the promotion he seems to only want to give to a family-oriented employee. But amid the fake swoons, fake kisses, and forced proximity, neither expects the very real feelings that develop.

There's nothing more dangerous than falling for your best friend... but what if the landing is worth the fall?

Unsatisfactory resolution

The story started out fine, especially the tension it provided. However, the conclusion of the breakup fight, accident, and resolution left me unhappy. It was just too much. It felt forced beyond belief. Not pleasant.

It was okay

It was okay, not the best story lines. Definitely not the best narrator. She sounded like she had candy in her mouth the whole time, I’m not gonna recommended this one to anyone. Thankfully I didn’t use my credits on it.

Adorable

Adorable sweet listen. Just enough drama to be a little different than the others of this genre. But, not too much drama to make it too deep. An easy listen snd sweet story.

Not worth the time

A simple conversation between 2 best friends would solve the dilemma in 2 minutes.

Very anticlimactic.

Spoiler alert :

I’ll be completely honest- I usually love books like this. I have read so many books about a friends to lovers, but this was so dull. I like books that pull me in, and this just didn’t. It was well written, but the characters who seemed to be best friends for years, YEARS, kept hem hawing and never understanding that the other was flirting? When there was one hour left to the book, was when they finally had their first real kiss that wasn’t around anyone, and they both say they love each other, she was avoiding him because of his ex, but when he says he wants her, not his ex, she rejects him? And I’ve never understood that friends kiss or catch feelings, and then say they don’t want the friendship to change, when it does whether you’d like it to or not, because that’s what happens when you catch feelings for someone, things change for one or both parties, so to use that as an excuse so hard is dumb to me. This book could have been cut by 80percent, and it would have seriously been better, instead of it just dragging on.

Cute and clean

Cute story - because it was predictable - I think it dragged on and could have been shorter.

I agree

I have to agree this book is a yawn. I didn’t even make it out of the first chapter. Did not grab my attention and was easy to block out the narrator. Narrator wasn’t great but not bad. I’ve heard worse.

This was a big yawn.

Sometimes a book is doomed from the start. This was one of those. For me, there wasn’t even potential. It started out underwhelming and went down hill from there. I’m always surprised, although I don’t know why, when these books get good reviews. I guess to each his own. But for me, this was a big fat zero. No charm, no character I wanted to be friends with, no town I wanted to live in. Nothing.
