Publisher's Summary

Keenan

It's been four years since I ran away - from home, my brother, and my maybe father. I created a life free of expectations while pretending I wasn't being hunted by all of the above. I managed to stay under the radar all this time...or so I thought. When big brother shows up and saves my ass, I'm forced to face everything I left behind, including her.

Sheldon

It's been four years since I became another statistic. I made a lot of mistakes when it came to Keenan Masters. The first was loving him at all. He took something from me the night he left, and when I told him I still loved him, he told me he'd always hate me. After that, I learned how to be okay...until he came back. Gone was the boy who always knew how to make me laugh, and in his place was a cold, arrogant monster.

How Dark is Your Love

You thought you knew what dark love was after Kieran and Lake, but you don’t. Sheldon and Keenan are about to smoke them out of the water and make you love every second of it in the process. It’s dirty and gritty and intriguing and mysterious. Everything that the first 2 books have been. However Keenan and Sheldon take this enemies to lovers to a whole new level that will make you cringe and not even know how you want it to end.

But B.B. does, she knows just how you want it to end. That is the most perfect thing about this series. B.B. understands that her readers don’t want to be left alone on a giant cliff feeling frustrated. She puts you back together again and makes you feel snug as a bug but also continues the storyline in a way that is so intriguing, you have no choice but to continue on. B.B. is a true “author to the readers”.

If you are having a hard time with Teddy and Ava being the narrators for the entire series, even though the characters change, there is no need. Teddy Hamilton has a voice for all. How he manages to have a conversation between 4 men and I can tell who all of them are distinctly, is beyond me. He is greatly talented and perfect for this role. His Keenan voice was so dismissive and aloof, perfection. Ava also manages to pull off a different tone and different inflections for each female character. It makes it such an enjoyable listen. This series is quickly becoming a favorite audio of mine.

AWESOME SERIES!

This review is for all 5 books in this awesome series. B. B. Reid did a fantastic job sucking me into this series and not letting go until I finished all 5 books back to back. Book 3 we get to find out more about Keenan and Sheldon and their relationship. This book showed a dark side to Keenan. There was some hot sex scenes. The story just keep getting interesting as it goes on. If you like dark read with crazy, possessive alpha males then this series is for you.

Aggreviated

I listened to this entire story just in case I missed the part where the deprivation and cruelty towards the female character was acknowledged and she got some well deserved payback and kicked the guy in the balls and to the curb.

Shame on the author for writing this crap.

You were acting like a child...

So I treated you like one. Okay, so if dude is putting kids in the trunk then he does not need to be a father. I just can't with this guy. Kieran was a killer and he had a dark past. He also hurt Lake when he pushed her off the monkey bars but he even admitted he hated seeing bruises on her. I mean I get Keenan went through some shit but not near as much shit as Kieran. Not to mention they are making sex more important than the kid. I mean the writer obviously never had to go through kidnapped kid bc the last thing you are thinking about is sex. I don't really understand why Keenan cannot stop being an abusive bastard and putting her in the trunk was too much. She could have suffocated on her own vomit and he was driving crazy and throwing her around. Kieran gained control through sex but Keenan (who by the way I really loved in the first two books) was just a fuckin psychotic dick. I guess the writer is more invested in the abuse than being true to the characters. I know the dark romance is a popular thing but being true to the characters stories is more important, especially in a series like this. It just really kind of makes me feel like the same story is being repeated with new names with more violence thrown in. I hope the next book with Willow and Dash story does not follow this pattern.

Ahhh Keenan and Sheldon

I fell in love with Keenan and Sheldon in the first 2 books and I was so excited to finally get to their own story, but as soon as I started I was filled with such anger and frustration with Keenan. He had become such a disappointment with the person he became after he took off and left town after prom. He was filled with hate and anger at everyone as he felt abandoned and betrayed. Don't get me wrong, I was totally frustrated with Sheldon the way she did abandon him when he needed her most when he was dying in the hospital in book 2 even after he kept asking her to come visit. At that point, this is your first and only love (for 2 years) and while he did make mistakes he was dying! It's time to grow up, put on your big girl panties and go visit the only man you've ever loved before he dies. Drop the petty mistakes that young loves make and visit him. I know she did eventually go, but she went when he was sleeping so he didn't know so it doesn't count. For that reason I completely saw the reason he shut out everyone and got so angry and hateful, but dang...he really did a complete 180! He was practically Kieran 2.0 from the first book. I kept waiting for him to go back to his old fun loving and goofy self from the first 2 books and was happy when he finally did; even if it wasn't until the very, very end. This was a good book, but I missed the real Keenan I fell in love with in the other books and would have liked more of that Keenan here. Glad they got their happy ever after and an adorable little girl to finally make them a family.

Unrealistic

This plot was extremely unbelievable. With random murders and extreme abuse. I didn’t feel like the main character did nearly enough groveling for his abuse and actions to get the girl. If some asshole impregnated me ran off came back and tortured and burned me and thought he had a right to my sexual history I would call the police and get a restraining order.

I couldn’t finish this

So I have about 2 hours left and... I can’t do it anymore. During the first two books I felt uncomfortable with the straight up abuse the characters were inflicting but I thought the backstory was interesting and kept listening. I really loved Keenan. He was my favorite character so I was so excited about his book. However, suddenly Keenan is basically Kieran and I don’t like him anymore. I don’t know if he goes back to normal by the end up I can sit here and listen to him physically abusing Sheldon and then her just letting him be around her daughter. If a man did anything close to what Keenan did- multiple times- to me, he would never see his daughter again. Maybe these books are just too dark for me.

I really don't get it.

the relationship is horrible. abusive. immature. childish. I just frowned and kept thinking ...WTF? the whole time. this is not a romance. this is an abuse story. If you are into that... go for it. now if you want a great book about a troubled soul L J Shen Vicious.

AAAAAAAA I'm screaming with love and joy

The hole series rocked. I wish I was retired at 32 so I had all the time in the world to listen to audiobooks or read and I would definitely go through this series again. Keenan and Sheldon's story is my favorite by far and I have to admit I actually lost count of how many times I listened to this book. Playful and nice guy going really bad, yum, u can't go wrong.
