Story
It’s true. I’m not what most people would call “pretty” and, well, high school was rough. Fast forward ten years and life is good, until a bunch of jerks think it’s hilarious to put the “butterface” (AKA me) on a wedding Kiss Cam with the hottest guy ever - and that old humiliation hits hard. I recognize him immediately. The hottest cop in Waterbury and totally out of my league. But then he kisses me. And we totally forget the room, the crowd, everything. Then he tells everyone we’ve been dating for months.

Story
Lord Nathaniel Harte, the disagreeable duke of Beswick, spends his days smashing porcelain, antagonizing his servants, and snarling at anyone who gets too close. With a ruined face like his, it's hard to like much about the world - especially smart-mouthed harpies (with lips better suited to kissing than speaking) who brave his castle with indecent proposals. But Lady Astrid Everleigh will stop at nothing to see her younger sister safe from a notorious scoundrel, even if it means offering herself up on a silver platter to the forbidding Beast of Beswick himself.

Publisher's Summary
From New York Times best-selling author R.L. Mathewson comes the next installment in the Neighbor from Hell series....
For those who enjoy touching stories that make them smile, laugh, and fall in love.
Sometimes life doesn’t go the way that we expected. That’s what happened to Devin Bradford when he received the news that turned his life upside down seven years ago. Determined to be there for his children, Devin has put his life on hold, putting his children first even if that meant telling himself that he couldn’t have the only woman he’d ever wanted.
After years of putting off taking the next step, Charlie was finally ready, mostly because her best friend had threatened to make her life a living hell if she didn’t. Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to pull this off unless she made some changes, Charlie somehow finds herself moving into the in-law apartment of the man who seemed to go out of his way to avoid her only to find herself wondering if she was chasing the wrong dream after all.

Finally!
I don't even have or want kids, but I still fell in love with Dustin and Abby reading the book, and hearing their voices gave me the warm & fuzzies all over again. Or maybe it should be the warm & fluffies in this case? Because everyone needs more fluffiness in their lives 🥰 Also, this awesome narrator brought the characters to life perfectly, even with switching between adult males/females, tween boy/ girl, and very young boy/girl. Each character voice was distinct, and actually matched up exactly with how I "heard" it in my head while reading.
If you haven't listened to the rest of the series, this will still be a great story, but so much better if you understand the family history and side characters. Plus, the other books in the series are phenomenal, so why miss out? 🤷♀️

Lots of lip worrying!
I’ve listen to several books by RL Mathewson and I’ve enjoyed them. In every book she uses the term “worrying her bottom lip” at least once. In this book, I feel like someone dared her to incorporate that phrase 20 times. She did. It got so annoying. It was like a drinking game.I found myself rolling my eyes every time I heard it. The narration is wonderful; it is hard to believe Fran Jules can make two child voices sound so realistic. Wonderful job! The story was good, but please stop with the worrying of the bottom lips!

More dimension to this book than the others
This was my favorite book in the series. The storylines are a pretty much the same (I still love them) but this one was refreshing compared to the others. It’s hard to pick a favorite Bradford man, but I think Devin is my favorite. The kids being such a major part of this story really tugged at my heart.
