Wien 1900. Lanya flieht vor einer arrangierten Ehe nach Ybbs an der Donau. Sie verbringt einen Sommer mit allen Freiheiten am Fluss, wo sie Boris, dem Sohn ihrer Gastfamilie, sehr nahekommt.
