This is a radio play version of Mary Shelley's classic novel, about the scientist Victor Frankenstein who created a monster. Recent biographies of Mary Shelley have pointed to the fact that Mary Shelley's motives for writing her story differ from those the public eventually attributed to it. There is good support for this because Mary Shelley wrote a preface to the 1831 edition of her novel in which she explicitly states this. And the themes she mentions are also present in her less talked about novel, The Last Man.

This is an adaptation by Michael Henrik Wynn for the education net radio stream Historyradio.org, and he also narrates and plays the various parts.
