Publisher's Summary

She grew up in front of the world on the beloved sitcom Full House, but then actress Andrea Barber abruptly left Hollywood. Why did she leave and what did she do for 20 years out of the spotlight before returning to television? This is her funny and inspiring memoir of fame, heartache, resilience - and the reboot of a lifetime....

When Kimmy Gibbler burst into the Tanners' home on Full House in 1987, audiences immediately connected with the confident and quirky pre-teen character, played by 10-year-old actress Andrea Barber. During an eight-season run on one of the most popular series of the '80s and '90s, Andrea came of age in front of millions. But she was as far removed from her character as a girl can get. The introverted young star was plagued with self-doubt, insecurities, and debilitating anxieties that left her questioning her identity after the show's cancelation. Andrea wouldn't return to the public eye until 2016, for Fuller House. So what happened in those intervening decades that Andrea jokingly calls "the lost years"?

For starters, Andrea never stopped working. But it was on a series of life-changing transitions: earning a college degree, then a Master's, building a career in international education, getting married, and starting a family. She also faced some unforeseeable transitions: navigating a sudden divorce after nearly 12 years of marriage, and second-guessing her capabilities as a single mother. But it was her devastating bout with post-partum anxiety and depression that derailed Andrea's life - and became a crucial turning point.

Full Circle is a raw, refreshingly honest look into the life of a celebrity who has never been fully comfortable in the spotlight. Here Andrea shares her deeply personal struggles with mental health in a way she has never done before. She opens up about fighting her way back and finding solace - while finding herself - all before her life came full circle with her costars and lifelong friends on Fuller House. Sharing her journey from child star, to champion of mental health, and back to stardom, Andrea writes in a way that feels like catching up with an old friend.

You'll laugh, reminisce, and finally get to know the woman behind the zany next-door neighbor.

Wow. I LOVED this book!

Andrea managed to put into words how I felt/feel struggling with anxiety and depression, recovering from divorce, and being a single mom. I laughed. I cried. I felt so understood. Thank you Andrea! I am amazed at how down to earth this book is. One of my favorite memoirs to date.

Totally relatable!

I don’t usually listen to a lot of memoirs, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Andrea is so down to earth and genuine and I appreciated the honestly in which she shared her struggles with anxiety and depression. I completely related to her as a working mom struggling with anxiety, raising kids, and putting your children first, always. Her life was very interesting and she’s an awesome narrator!

Well Done Andrea

Being a fan of Full House & Fuller House it is wonderful to see the growth of the show along with the growth of all of its fans. Those of us who watched the show as kids, all get to watch as adults along with our own children & that’s very special. Andrea opening up about her depression & anxiety makes those of us that experience it feel not so alone. Her struggles & triumphs are relatable. I actually love the adult Kimmy more than the kid Kimmy lol but the woman who plays the role seems like a pretty great person too

Honest, fun and real

A great book and I relate to it a lot, especially the anxiety and life in general. Discovered a Full house a few years ago and immediately fell for the show, the pepole and the story. Fuller house is also great and provides more than joy and happiness. The book tells a fun story about life behind the scenes but also real life with real challenges. Thanks Andrea.

AMAZING is an Understatement

I'm honestly NOT a big reader, i'm never interested in reading due to never being able to focus long enough to finish one but i REALLY wanted to read this book. I was so happy when I saw that there was a Audio version that way i could play it while i did house work and was able to take care of my 4 month old at the same time. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE! Andrea is the most humble, caring and down to earth celebrity i've ever come across. Listening to this book i was able to relate a lot which i never thought was possible with a celebrity but they are all human just like the rest of us. When she talked about anxiety I could relate 100% growing up I started to realize the things I was going through was a lot like anxiety but never really realized until I ended up in the emergency room after a panic attack from being in an extremely crowded restaurant and was finally diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I love that she wanted to take time to find herself outside of the role of Kimmy Gibbler and get her degrees I think it was extremely brave and also good for her mental health and i'm very thankful because if she hadn't who knew if she would have wanted to come back for fuller house and it definitely wouldn't have been the same without her. I'm completely in love with this book! Five Stars All Around!

So many reasons to read this, but particularly if you deal with anxiety

I absolutely loved listening to Andrea’s story, how she essentially fell into acting, her accomplishments post-Full House and then how she returned to acting. I particularly enjoyed her honest discussion of anxiety and how it’s affected her. I felt extremely connected and seen in a lot of her descriptions. At times it felt like I was having a conversation with a friend. It truly gave me additional insight about myself. There are a lot of gems within this book and I’m very thankful for them.
I was talking about the book to my husband and based on my excitement he said, “you want to be friends with her, don’t you?” Umm, you bet I do! I really enjoyed this book and respect Andrea Barber. She is one awesome human.
If you love Full House (who doesn’t?!), you’re going to want to read this book. If you suffer from and deal with anxiety, you’re going to want to read this book.

Great book!

Andrea tells her story with humor and vulnerability. This is a great reflection on a life well, though not always easily, lived. It also is a wonderful look into the Full House “family.” If you are a fan of the show this is a must read!

Loved every second

I eschewed all the ‘must-read’ New York Times bestsellers and the like in favour of something I thought I’d enjoy much more. And, boy, did I nail it!

I loved every second. It was such a beautifully crafted memoir narrated perfectly by the author whose voice I’d know anywhere.

This book is for Full House fans, Fuller House fans, Kimmy Gibbler fans, anyone who suffers from anxiety and/or depression and anyone who’s been through a painful divorce.

If you adore the totally loveable, open, honest and down-to-earth Andrea Barber, you’ll adore her even more after listening to this book. If I met her, I’m sure we’d become instant besties. 😉

Thank you, Andrea, for taking the time to put together this incredible book and audio for so many to enjoy and get so much value out of. It will stay with me for a very long time. xoxo
