Publisher's Summary

When naval officer Troy Weston loses his hands in a training accident, the doctors present him with a unique offer: robotic replacement hands with added strength and durability. He'll be a new man with a new life, far more capable than he ever was before. He accepts, and during his recovery he returns to Lake Superior to pilot his sailboat on bays he's known since childhood.

During a fierce and wild thunderstorm, Troy and his craft are sent through a portal and into an unknown world. When the rain settles and the winds lift, he finds himself on a foreign coastline surrounded by Greek architecture.

Stunned and wounded, he finds another survivor adrift on her wreck - a woman of rare beauty, armed with a sword, two guns, and an iron will.

Pulling her aboard his boat, she will utter a sentence that will change Troy's life forever.

"I am Helen, and you will take me to the war."

Experience this strange tale of alternate universes, magic, and mythology - a combination unlike any before.

Warning: This book contains adult situations, foul language, and a seriously good time.

Good fun but lacking in depth

The story was good but had no real depth of character building. each character seemed to just be and not develope. The writing was good but shallow. if you just listen to kill some time and not want to have to follow a serious story line then thia ia the perfect book.

Decent unlimited read but shallow

It's an interesting book to what is a shallow series in what could be a detailed and interesting world. I burned through the book at 2x
It's an ok read as part of the free subscriber library but not worth buying since it is very much a one and done kind of listen.

Another fantastic voyage

Daniel Pierce delivers another exciting tale that brings us to an alternate universe where mythology is real. I have to say, I wasn't expecting to like this one as much as I did, but the inclusion of ancient mythology and historical figures really brought it home. The action is great, the relationships are fun, and the protagonist is very different from what you might expect. I'm glad to see authors trying new ideas, because having a lead character who is an amputee was really nice to see. I hope the sequel is as good as the first. I'll be waiting!

Needs more

So here we have another MC that is clueless fool that gets lead around by his johnson. You pull this Fembot out of the water and see seems to hate the greeks, that's it? So clueless MC trusts random Fembot and he goes on a murder rampage against a nation because a Fembot just hates greeks. He has no facts to back ANYTHING up by the Fembot.

Love the concept

Very great concept of meshing histories and technology. Found it very plausible and entertaining. Will continue the series with anticipation.

Subpar plot and world, Subpar Narrator, and Free.

Lazy writing and no depth in plot, character development, or even world building. Just lazy, poor, and subpar writing from someone presented as a paid professional author... I think this falls under the same way someone becomes You Tube famous or an Instagram Celebrity. A twist of luck and poor life decisions being motivated by participation awards and no one telling him the truth. Rewrite this book from the concept stage and actually write it like you actually are a professional author, not a mediocre fan fiction poster.

The Narrator is good to decent on male voices. But every female voice makes me see Dobby the House elf or Gollum from Lord of the Rings... His female.voices are so bad and unattractive that he should have never had been narrating any book with a woman in asex scene. Goblins or dwarven orgies, yeah, he is your man for those books.

So in conclusion, the only saving grace of this audio book is it was free... And you have 8 hours of your life to waste. Yeah, I know the book is less than 8 hours, but you will need the extra time to question your life choices that lead you to suffering thru this audio book.

Not bad but

I'm fine with the meme and the writing is good enough. For some reason, I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I just need a good fantasy, sci-fi, or romantic comedy for now.
