The various themes explored in the book such as wealth changing people dynamics, what some women expect from their husbands more than just money, sometimes the cruelty & laziness the rich people indulge are all very well explored , but still the story hanging in there without any close explanations make me take step back from liking the book.

The narration is fine but there's no pause between chapters. It's not something I usually notice but it's so obvious when it's missing. One chapter comes barrelling in after the other - practically kicking in the door. it's abrupt, jarring and ruins the experience.

Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag is a quick read about how sudden wealth reshapes a middle-class Bangalore family. The book is descriptive enough to feel like a story happening next door with relatable characters.

This book is perfect for a single sitting. Gripping in just realistic human behavior and mounting tension. Always curious to know where did the book derive its name and glad to uncover that as an anecdote in the pages of the book.
