Publisher's Summary

A Gotrek novel

When the Bad Moon rises, Gotrek Gurnisson descends into the heart of Skragrott, the Loonking's twisted, fungal empire in pursuit of vengeance.

Listen to it because:

The Slayer hunts the most ancient enemies of his people in the heart of their domain. It may not be the world he was born in, and they may go by the name grots now, but no self-respecting dwarf is ever going to turn down the chance to kill hordes of goblins....

The story:

Hell-bent on ridding himself of the Fyreslayer rune buried in his chest, Gotrek Gurnisson, the greatest slayer to ever live, travels deep into the strange, alchemical realm of Chamon. Using their mysterious aether-science, the Kharadron overlords of Barak-Urbaz offer an end to Gotrek’s quest. But, as the Bad Moon rises and murderous Gloomspite Gitz threaten to destroy the sky-port, Gotrek pits himself against the most ancient enemy of his people - the greenskins. While his aelven travelling companion, Maleneth Witchblade, struggles to keep him alive, Gotrek throws himself headlong into a bloody battle for survival that will take him into the dank, fungal heart of Skragrott’s Asylum.

Written by Darius Hinks. Running time 9 hours 46 minutes. Narrated by Jonathan Keeble.

Enormously bad.

Gotten, one of the most awesome characters of all time, struggles to defeat frogs, waits, and to avoid being turned into a mushroom. Yes, the story is that bad.

another master piece

once again we see the literary talen of Darius Hinks and the great performance of Jonathan Keeble, as we dive deep into the world of one of my favorite AoS factions, the Caradron Overlords. the pacing is spot on and the emotional turns hint at something even greater to come as Gotrek meets these strange dwarves and their most peculiar enemy, gobbos with mushroom magic, to put it bluntly hehe

Another great adventure with Gotrek in the Mortal Realms

This is a great addition to Gotrek’s adventures. This audiobook is a must for fans of the slayer, Gloomspite Gits, and the Kharadron Overlords. Well performed and a good listen.

Fair warning, there is some body horror as characters are deformed or encased within giant mushrooms. It isn’t too graphic, but if you have a phobia of these things watch out.

Narration good, story less so

Fun; would've maybe been better to see Gotrek Vs Manglers, or whole nests of Arachnarok...

A worthy addition to the Gotrek mythos

Gitslayer follows in the now-old tradition of Gotrek stories in being something of a filler novel. It is a story where Gotrek is pitted against a particular foe whose race is largely chosen from a list of races that haven't been the antagonistic focus of a previous book. Nothing happens in terms of a broader story, though there are hints of some greater arc being developed. But, as with previous Gotrek novels that follow this format the tale is still worth telling and reading.

Worth a listen!

Loved the Gitz getting some more time in the loonlight! Felt a bit slow to get started but enjoyed the overall story progression.

Gitslayer: Return of the Grobbi

Narration as fantastic as always with Jonathan Keeble.

Another thrilling Gotrek tale of heroics, humour and hysterics.

A fantastic look further into Gotreks conflicted feelings of the new world he finds himself, his Dawi descendants now at the mercy of the gloomspite moon and threatens to destroy all of Ayadah.

Well written AOS book, worth a read.

Some of the books in the AOS universe aren't great, this is great though! evocative and interesting the grots make for quite interesting and unusual antagonists.

good but not great

while I did enjoy it and big fan of the hack and slash gotrex and Felix books I found this ones characters especially the goblin ones not the strongest.

I nearly stop listening with the first meeting of the goblins ! learning about the characters and all the stupid goblin language talking nearly made me stop listening. happy I kept listening and this wasn't a big theme
