Author Jill Milligan writes with humor and sympathy about grandmothers of the baby boom generation in Grandma Rules: Notes on Grandmotherhood, the World's Best Job. These women break the stereotype of the naïve and prim grandmothers of yesteryear. The modern grandmother is aware of mainstream culture to a good degree, and can relate to her children and grandchildren in realistic ways.
