About this listen

Actor, singer...necromancer?

All the world's a stage...even when you're teleported to a new world.

Struggling actress Cara O'Sullivan was walking down the street of Galway one moment, and the next, she was in an ancient tomb in a faraway world. Alone in the dark with her cell phone as her last tenuous connection to home, Cara sings her favorite song. To her astonishment, her song casts a spell of light into the world...and from the depths, something hears her. Challenged by a ghostly knight, a tragic necromancer, and hordes of undead, can a young woman who does not believe in heroes become one herself?

The connection I felt with the story was a one of a kind experience. I always wanted to read and never got the appeal of listening, but the last few chapters really made me want to listen to the other books in this and its adjacent series. It made me feel various emotions. I chuckled, cried, wept, and was thrilled by the novel. I always pause a webserial, when an emotional content is coming next, but this one made me read through it all and it is all the better then than those paused stories for making me engaged even when I start to avoid and pause the stories at their emotional contents. So, overall a great listening experience. The narrator was great. The different voices she put out were great. The songs sung were great. So, overall great.

A great story
