Publisher's Summary
This holiday, spend quality time with family and loved ones-living and dead...
There's no place like home for the horrordays-unless you'd prefer a romantic midnight walk through a ghost-infested graveyard...or a haunted house candlelight dinner with the sexy vampire of your dreams.
The (black) magical season is here - and whether it's a solstice seance gone demonically wrong with the incomparable Kim Harrison, a grossly misshapen Christmas with the remarkable Lynsay Sands, a blood-chilling-and-spilling New Year's with the wonderful Marjorie M. Liu, or a super-powered Thanksgiving with the phenomenal Vicki Pettersson, one thing is for certain: in the able hands of these exceptional dark side explorers, the holidays are going to be deliciously hellish!

4 novellas
There’s barely a holiday connection in this urban fantasy novella quartet, each just over/under 3 hrs. Really, it’s just four stories starring females, magic, mystery, and varying degrees of romance.
Two Ghosts for Sister Rachel by Kim Harrison ⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Tomatoes: the Devil’s fruit”
18 year old Rachel tries out her witch powers, gets to know ye old ghost, and takes on a vampire.
Cozy and predictable, but good enough.
Run, Run Rudolph by Lyndsay Sands ⭐️
Reminds me of the Shaggy Dog as Jill gets zapped, gaining the ability to morph into people/animals.
The characters and story are both rather flat and forgettable. There’s also a cringey romance.
Six by Marjorie M Liu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Grittier urban fantasy as Six, a Chinese counter-terrorism agent goes up against vampires.
Both the story and the romance are entertaining. I also like the Asian flair.
The Harvest by Vicki Peterson ⭐️⭐️⭐️
An entertaining mind-trip, even if it never really came together for me. I feel like this could be a phenomenal full length book. As a novella, it was something about agents of light and dark,
beings reincarnated under the signs of the zodiac, and the story of secret magical beings revealed in
comic books. Also, a love story of star crossed demigods. And a magical cornucopia?
This would make a good black mirror episode.
