About this listen

A broody fae king bent on revenge meets his match in this hilarious modern romance.

Book lover Addison Thornrose can match you with your next perfect read. Unfortunately, she can't match herself with a good man. Her latest just dumped her. Worse, she's learned that unless she marries, and quickly, her family will lose their witch magic—forever.

Feylin, king of the fae, has no interest in romance. In fact, the only thing he's interested in is getting revenge on the Thornrose family for ruining his life. So when he learns that they're holding a Bridgerton-style ball to marry off their oldest daughter, Addison, he sees an opportunity for vengeance.

What Feylin doesn't expect is to start falling for Addison. And worse, he really doesn't expect it when ancient fae magic binds them together.

His solution is to strike a bargain—be in a fake relationship. Just until they can break the spell between them, and just until he can get his revenge.

For Addison, this is a dream come true! She doesn't want to be pawned off to a line of suitors, and she certainly doesn't want to be engaged. But between the spine-tingling fake dates and the tension-infused banter, lines begin to blur. Addison begins to wonder when her heart will stop faking it and her feelings become real.

This grumpy/sunshine witch romcom features a ballroom dance complete with frilly gowns, a magical bookshop, a tight-knit family, sisterhood, and of course, the promise of true love. It's the first in a series of standalone romances.

This one was witches & Fae meets bridgerton style matchmaking ball but Rom Com style.
Woah.. I didn't expect this one to take me on a wild roller coaster of so many emotions because it started off as fun and almost comedic with the way Addison talked and behaved but oh my, I really enjoyed this one oh so much.

We have addison, the eldest daughter from the witch family. She has no magic and that makes her being treated like an outsider. Not by her family but by the entire community.

Being dumped recently, when she wanted was finally to get married and also when something happens, Addy is forced back home and a big shocker is waiting for her.

Even she hates it, yet she has to participate in a bridgerton style ball to meet her match and married if she wants to save her family's magic.

In a Twist of fate, the stranger who had become sworn enemy to Addy comes to her rescue when drama ensues and shockingly they are joined together which means magically been bound.

Wow... This one kept on surprising me with every turn. It was surely nothing to what I thought the journey would be.

Feylin and Addy together are fire, yes in chemistry but more in feiry banter and giving us full on Enemies-to-Lovers vibes throughout.

I absolutely loved the concept of the magical shop that daddy's family owns which has magical books. So, anyone can jump into a book of their choosing and experience the entire story by living it. Such a thrilling concept and a dream for a book lover.

We have Yearning, magical twists as Feylin and Addy have now to prove to the Fae kingdom by passing all their rituals and proving her to be fit to be a queen.

Feylin also seems to be hiding something very important things from Addy because we have a revenge angle here and questions as to why Feylin wants to destroy addy's family.

I loved the bond between Ryles, Feylin's young cousin brother and Addy and it was so sweet seeing them together. Especially because of how lonely Ryles always was except for Feylin.

The Gold Rose though has my entire heart. That whole thing is simply magical and breathtaking in the way it makes you feel. Sigh!!

The storm of emotions towards the end was shocking and honestly, I was so pissed off at everything that's happens. I didn't know if I would be able to let go of my anger at that point.

Thank goodness, our author does gives us a sweet thing ahead. Ahhh... Feylin and Addison were so amazing together. Loved this one.
