Publisher's Summary

Even for a top-gun banker, temptation this hot is quite a gamble in a sexy Wall Street romp from New York Times best-selling author Lauren Layne.

An alpha among the wolves of Wall Street, Kennedy Dawson rose to the top of the pack by striking the right contracts at the right times. But there's one deal that's been giving him a run for his money - a pact to never again let his assistant, Kate, get under his skin. She may be smart, gorgeous, and sharp as a whip, but she's definitely off-limits.

Kate Henley isn't a banker, but she knows a thing or two about risk management - specifically, about managing her attraction to her smolderingly sexy boss. She already fell once, and Kennedy showed no sign of paying a return on her investment. So when Kennedy's brother starts pursuing her, Kate figures she has the best of both worlds. Jack is charming, rich, very attentive, and the spitting image of his older brother.

It's also making Kennedy think twice. But to win Kate's heart, he'll have to broker the deal of a lifetime...and prove he's worth the risk.

Awesome book, why in 3rd person thought?!

I've been stalking this series for the final book for months, waiting to hear Kennedy and kate's story. The only disappointment was it being in 3rd person. Why do authors still do this ? lol. Only reason why I kept the book is because of the awesome performance Zachary Webber gives and I actually liked the story.

Best Narrator

Zachary Webber shines...as always. I’ve been waiting a long time to read Kat’s and Kennedy’s story. I enjoyed it very much.

Huge Deal

I was waiting for Kennedy and Kate’s story. Sadly, I didn’t care for it. I’m not sure why the author decided that this book should be in 3rd person. I couldn’t get into it at all.
Samantha Cook and Zachary Webber are amazing but not even their beautiful voices could help the fact that this hook was in 3rd person.

Kennedy and Kate❤️

Omg Kennedy is definitely the unsociable, no-nonsense but totally caring, big-hearted “dad” of the Wolfe men. 😂😍 I am a wife of an older man who is a couple years older than Kennedy and I totally get the personality! 😂 That’s why Kennedy is my favorite of the group. Ian and Matt are so playful and downright adorable in their own way. All 3 are hilarious and witty. Zachary Webber makes me wish I were friends with them even though I am nowhere near as sharp as they are. Webber’s narration (along with Jason Clarke) are my absolute FAVORITES. Heck, I wish I were friends with Webber, too! Just so I can hear him come up with sarcastic comebacks. 😂

I was skeptical about Samantha Cook because I did not like how she narrates the previous books. Her pacing was slow for me, but I like how clear her voice is and how she changes her tone to separate characters. She narrated better this time, though.

Smart men can really overthink things more than when women overthink. The Wolfe men are exactly that. They work hard and (may) party hard - except Kennedy. He works hard and is content with order and same routines. Kate is the same, but she has fun with it. Her down-to-earth personality makes her likable and cute. She has been in love with Kennedy for years and it took years for Kennedy to notice. It was fun to see Kennedy get out of his perfect circle and enjoy life - playing chess with Kate, picnicking with Kate, swooning Kate, etc. The loss of someone in the book greatly affects Kate, but Kennedy does his best to comfort her. What a roller coaster they are on! The epilogue is pretty cute and gives a nod to his birthday party with that weird ice sculpture 😂

Lauren Layne is still one of my favorite authors. She never disappoints with her stories! It may seem like the same gist of a storyline, but she makes each one unique so that the stories can be distinguished from each other. Her humor is downright...HILARIOUS. And she has Webber voicing those hilarious moments? GOLDEN. The funny parts come naturally and are not forced like in “comedy shows.” Kind of like R.S. Grey’s books. Most of the time they are embarrassing but they are funny because it is so real and true. Job well done!!!!

Kennedy is Hot!

I loved the 21 Wall Street series, but this one was my absolute favorite. I am totally in love with Kennedy, and what makes him even more sexy is hearing him voiced by Zachary Webber. I will definitely be listening to these books again in the future.

I love Kate’s spunkiness. She is someone I would love to be friends with if she was an actual person. I’m glad she got her a happy ending.

The one thing I enjoyed is the friendship between the three main males in the story. It was just a different take on similar series, but it was still original enough to be fun. I also love the fact that she didn’t overuse profanity or make it too sexual. I definitely recommend this book.

A deal?

Not a huge deal. The story fell flat. Characters weren't fleshed out well. The timeline moved in fits and starts. Did Ms Layne have her heart in the story, or just produce the right amount of words needed to meet a deadline?

Refreshing!

It’s so refreshing to read an intelligently written book that doesn’t rely on cussing to be interesting or to make up a word count. I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author. Zachary Webber is a favorite narrator and Samantha Cook was excellent as well. Kennedy was a different sort of Wall St hero, being uptight and traditional, not over-the-top alpha typical of so many books in this boss/assistant genre. The author created complex characters and stayed true to them, even as they grew and developed.
