Publisher's Summary

If I Can't Have You by Charlotte Levin is an all-consuming novel about loneliness, obsession and how far we go for the ones we love.

My name is Constance Little.

This is my love story.

But this isn’t the way it was supposed to end.

After fleeing Manchester for London, Constance attempts to put past tragedies behind her and make a fresh start. When she embarks on a relationship with the new doctor at the medical practice where she works, she’s convinced she’s finally found the love and security she craves.

Then he ends it. But if life has taught her anything, it’s that if you love someone, you should never let them go.

That's why for Constance Little, her obsession is only just beginning....

Meh

I waited almost all year for this and the audio book was so long winded and the flat narrator made it a bore for me. I think it would be better to read.

The best thing you'll have heard in years!

This was absolutely superb, with characters that gripped me from the start, and a story that kept me awake at night.
Very hard to put away!
The lead character, Constance, like any of us - is prone to weakness, and often just one decision away from a completely different life, yet she finds hidden strength when she needs it. She's a great character - (think Alice Morgan in Luther, though with much less killing).
Others easily raise the right amount of emotion, whether it's disgust, empathy or sheer hatred.
I didn't expect the ending, though it certainly left me feeling satisfied.
I really hope Charlotte Levin gets working on her next book soon. I very much doubt this will be her last book, she clearly has plenty of talent!

I couldn't stop listening to this captivating, funny, poignant, beautifully written story. I loved the frankness and quiet strength of the main character. And the narrator performing various accents was superb!

Engrossing

Built the story and atmosphere well.
Not exactly a feel good book and possibly a bit over long, but quite got me gripped from the beginning.

Disappointing

A little boring unfortunately. I felt as though I was forever waiting for the punchline but it never came. The narrator's voice was very monotonous too.

Brilliant! Couldn’t stop listening

I absolutely loved this audiobook, it is a great listen and at times had me in hysterics, the story although based on a very serious issue (stalking) made the main character very likeable and interesting to listen to. The narrator was fantastic. Great purchase.

Good listen

The description and language used is beautiful and creates a world of imagination.
The narrator dips between characters so smooth and effortlessly.
A good listen, not too heavy, light enough to dip in and out when suited.

Lovely story

Wonderful book, very compelling character -- in the vein of Eleanor Oliphant (and definitely as good IMO)
