About this listen
Oliver Marks has just served 10 years in jail - for a murder he may or may not have committed. On the day he's released, he's greeted by the man who put him in prison. Detective Colborne is retiring, but before he does, he wants to know what really happened a decade ago.
As one of seven young actors studying Shakespeare at an elite arts college, Oliver and his friends play the same roles onstage and off: hero, villain, tyrant, temptress. But when the casting changes, and the secondary characters usurp the stars, the plays spill dangerously over into life, and one of them is found dead. The rest face their greatest acting challenge yet: convincing the police, and themselves, that they are blameless. Intelligent, thrilling, and richly detailed, If We Were Villains is a captivating story of the enduring power and passion of words.

A good read
The narration was very good and the Shakespeare verses were easy to understand even with rudimentary knowledge. Worth a read.

The voice actor
He made the emotions so incredibly accurate. Emotions of the characters hit me as if I myself was feeling them. I loved it, and it was really enjoyable. Incredible voice actor, and more-so more incredible at evoking emotion. Remarkable!

Loved it!
IWWV has its fair share of admirers and I am one of them. The narration was really good! I would someday love to hear a dramatized version of this book.

Boring story, just friends drama nothing interesti
It started good but then i felt they are just streching the drama here and there. By the end of it i kind of figured out what could have happened.

Co-authored by Shakespeare
Book needed a good editor. It quoted entire passages of plays that stalled the main narrative. Would've been at least fifty papes shorter and a better read if faux intellectualism wasn't invoked at every turn.
