Es besteht darin, dass jeder Angeklagte nach Festlegung des Urteils, das nicht angezweifelt werden kann, von einem Apparat in minutiösem Ablauf stundenlang gefoltert und dann getötet wird. Was er zu beherzigen habe, wird ihm in den Leib eingeschrieben. Der bei einer Vorführung anwesende Forschungsreisende verlässt nach dem unerwarteten Ausgang der Exekution umgehend die Insel.
