Publisher's Summary

New York Times bestseller Corinne Michaels brings you the conclusion in this emotional second chance love story.

Book two of two in the Indefinite Duet.

I was right. I never should’ve fallen back in love with Quinn. I always knew we wouldn’t make it. And to make matters worse, not only did I lose my soulmate - I lost myself as well.

Everything was stripped away, leaving me bare and unable to breathe. No one told me it could hurt this much. I was unprepared for this level of agony from the horrible weight of grief.

I planned to love him infinitely. But what is infinity, when love always ends?

Such a rare thing....

...but I can't finish a Corrine Michael's book. Love Quinn but Ashton... cannot stomach her anymore...it's all about her. I didn't care for her in the first book but tried this one. I even spent money on the audible to try to make myself finish it....Quinn needs to go find someone who deserves him. Definitely not her.

The book was good, but...

Not to discount the seriousness of the storyline, I really felt like the heroine’s depressive, I’m empty, and worthless feelings just carried on for way...way too long in this book. Although I love Andi and Joe narration, I sped up the replay to 1.5 just to get through it faster. Also, as an avid reader and audible listener, begging for all the duets to STOP. This could have easily been one book without the ridiculous cliffhanger and wait between indefinite and infinite.

Stop!

The first book was good enough for me to move on to the second. Unfortunately, that was stupid. I could not even get through half because of the depressive nature. The constant pity party Ashton has for herself and repetitive script was too much to bear. Rare that I move on from a book because I usually enjoy listening but not this time.

Ohh Ashton..

If you have ever had a miscarriage or loss of the chance to have a child please don’t read this. Corinne is a great author but a woman that has spent an entire chapter in the last book saying she kept freezing eggs makes this a joke. Yes, she had a heartbreaking miscarriage but just because she can’t give birth she thinks she has no option. You make babies and have frozen eggs... I honestly don’t know how that is the end of any chance. Maybe Quinn being kidnapped by a friend and almost murdered and real issues versus trying to get pregnant then accidentally getting pregnant?!!!.. just kind of makes you want to punch Ashton... I saw my big sister try to get pregnant..get healthy only to openly question her doctor about a lump for 6 months to find out finally it was cancer. She did everything to protect her body and did ivf got pregnant lost the child (her 1 and only viable egg that was viable after they said it would be more and loss it) idk wtf Ashton is crying about she froze eggs already!!!!!! Like you make babies and want to cry because you can’t carry it? Adoption is a great thing and you having the full option and financial ability to have a surrogate is a real easy thing. Please please Corinne read about miscarriage and the ability to use your eggs considering you said she still froze her freakin eggs. I have seen people lose it all and this just is a disgrace to all the women struggling now. Sorry I think this story just hurts my heart and Ashton being so damn whiny about him having a military-life and obsessive with getting pregnant(while forgetting she is prepping body for pregnancy and omg gets pregnant!!!) but meet military wives and people with infertility please before you ever right about it again.

Heartbreaking story until almost the end.

Very long since most of the storyline centers on loss and grief. The predicted miscarriage from part 1 cliffhanger and Quinn’s abduction were predictable given the previous stories in the series, but this story heaped misery on misery with only a hint of the eventual happy ending. The maudlin tone dragged on too much and was hart to take for the majority of the book. At times It was frustrating to have sympathy for Ashton given how she treated Quinn. The story would have worked much better as one long book with tighter editing and readers wouldn’t have to pay for 2 books for one story which I find very annoying, as well as having to wait a couple months for an ending or resolution to the cliffhanger. Also there were a few unanswered questions to the kidnapping such as what was the cause of Quinn’s horrible pain before being drugged and who were the other kidnappers. Especially given the timing of the kidnapping, why was Ashton released without seeing a psychologist or grief counselor. A very sweet overdue ending. If there is a followup story then adding an adoptive girl to round out the family seems to be in order given that no one brought up that option.
The narration was excellent.

Too much

Ashton is so depressive. The whole book is her being depressed. It’s awful. She can only think of herself.

Unbelievable

I absolutely hate not finishing a book but literally am disgusted that Corinne Michaels
created a highly educated scientific woman who actually believed that she caused her own miscarriage. And goes on and on and on about it. How on earth would a woman who had a career in the reproduction sciences even entertain that idea? I can’t even finish this book. It’s so unbelievable.

I love Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke. But even they can’t save this story.

drags on

I love books by Corinne Michaels usually but I've struggled with this book, it really touches a sensitive subject however it really does drag on and on, I feel at least 5 chapters could have easily been cut from this book without it impacting the story. I persevered with the story which overall and across both books is very good, but I did find this hard work. I don't think I'd listen to it again.

Oh my Goodness!

I loved it! There we're times I wanted to hold the character close from how emotional it was getting and the voice acting was the best!
