Publisher's Summary

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken proves that everyone scores to win. But off the field, a fumble can change the entire game.

Pro footballer Miller Quinton would do anything for his best friend and teammate - including "fake dating" his friend's sister. What no one knows is that seven months ago in Vegas, Miller and Kinsey did a whole lot more than just kiss. Miller knows that this cheerleader is off-limits to him and any guy on the team. Still, he can't stop himself.

Kinsey's whole world is on the verge of crumbling. Her dad has cancer. Her overprotective brother is falling apart. Dating Miller may be a fake-out, but he's the one guy who can make her forget about everything - including all the reasons she stayed away from football players. With each heated moment, Miller feels more like a safe place...even though he's not safe at all.

Now temptation is testing every rule in the game of love. But how long can they go on playing when winning is a harder goal than either of them imagined?

A-freaking-mazing!

I would give this book 10 stars if I could. The story was fantastic , but Rachel Van Dyken is an amazingly fabulous author, so I was expecting a fantastic story. I loved the characters! Ms. Van Dyken writes her characters so well, and makes you get to know them so well, that you want to be their best friend.
I love the humor in all of Ms. Can Dyken’s books and this book was no exception.
The narrators were fabulous! They really made the story come alive. The only thing that could have made the narration better is if they read together so they didn’t have to do different voices for the main characters. But, even without them reading together, they are awesome. No monotone reading. The narrators seriously nailed the character they were performing.
Anyway, if you love humor, fabulous characters and a great story line, try this. You won’t be disappointed!

BONUS!

This is a two for one! I can’t get enough when an author throws in an extra side love story.
Miller is having a bit of a hard time figuring out what his love life is going to look like now. Kinsey kind of inserts herself as his honorary best friend and things become heated. ;)

Kinsey’s brother is very protective and is also Miller's teammate and best friend of sorts. So even if he wanted to go there Jax wouldn’t even consider it only things take a turn when Jax is the one to suggest to Miller the most outrageous thing of all…. To pretend to be Kinsey’s boyfriend…. Oh dear right, you would think this book was going to be filled with dramalama but nope you would be wrong it was just the right amount of angst and drama. I loved it.

I wasn’t expecting to get emotional in this book at all and yet I found myself in tears. It sneaks up on you in a way that is organic and I won’t soon forget this book that is for sure.

I am not going to spoil the side story for ya, just let you figure that one out. ;)

The narration again I am in love with these narrators, they brought all the emotions and inflection into their characters I couldn’t, wouldn’t stop listening.

Simply Perfect!

Rachel Van Dyken is so freakin’ amazing! I love all her book and how they can pull out all the emotions. Her characters are relatable and you just get drawn into the story. This book was no exception. As the second in the series, it focused on Miller moving on from Emerson and his relationship with Kenzie and her brother Jax. Of course there was plenty of Jax and Harley thrown in too (Yay, Sebastian York!!!), as well as the always sarcastic and hilarious Sanchez.
There was emotional upheaval, fights, love, laughter and heartbreak. (Yep, I cried listening to this book too.)
This trio of narrators kicked a**! Jeremey and Carly were fantastic on their own, but then you put Sebastian and his sexy deep voice in the mix, and how can you not just love it?!?! All three of them just did a wonderful job. I’ll definitely be listening to this one again and again!

All the feels

At the time of this review you can read & listen via KU. The book is $4.99 & you can add the audio for $1.99 ~ so still less than a credit. I originally listened via KU, but enjoyed it so much I opted to buy it and it's a book I've listened to several times. The narration is superb.

RVD does what she does best and gives us a story where we laugh, cry, love the MC's, get frustrated with the MC's, and then when it's all done ~ we want more!

Possibly spoiler but I almost didn't listen to this because I thought it was a love-triangle. But it's really not. Emerson has a past with Miller that she needs to come to terms with before she can fully be with Grant. And listening to it all unfold is a thing of beauty. Anyone can see that Miller gets his own book next, so it's not that big a spoiler.

Very good!

Really enjoyed the first book of this series, so was very excited to listen to the 2nd one. Started off a little blah, but definitely ended great. Lots of laugh out loud moments. And a very nice story about heaven - which was very much needed because that particular part of the book, I was actually listening to on my way to a funeral. And very happy Jax found a HEA too.

Love this series

Wow this one had me getting emotional. This book has everything in it, humor, love, sadness. This book will take you on a emotional roller coaster among friends. I actually like Miller and Kinsey. I was a little upset how in the first book it wasn't Miller and Emerson but Kinsey makes morse sense with him. Really good series but I expect nothing less from Rachel Van Dyken.

4 stars

Agh, this was so good and sad. I liked how it had different elements in this book, a bit unexpected since I didn't really read the blurb. I loved the audiobook.

Another hit from writer's authors!!
Narrators did a stellar job!
Again... not all narrators got equal time. 😖
Why oh why did Sebastian York only get a paragraph ? 😢

This was an excellent story. Just loved it from the first word to the last. A great romance story that was written so you felt the emotions of each character. Narration was awesome too.

Female narrator ruins it

Having really enjoyed the first book, I was looking forward to this one. Carly Robbins has never been good in the past and the same is true here - last or every other book she reads, the female character yells almost everything, ruining what should be normal conversations. Returning this based on narrator which is a shame.
