Publisher's Summary

In the seaport city of New London, Connecticut, newcomer Connor Raposo has just witnessed a gruesome motorcycle accident on Bank Street. At least he thinks it was an accident. But then he sees a familiar man - who else would wear an Elvis pompadour in this day and age? - lurking around the crime scene. Where does Connor know him from? And why does everyone he knows keep showing up dead?

Fun book

Funny. Lots of characters to keep up with but that is part of the fun.

Fabulous book.

An engaging and well told story. Dobyns is top-notch. If you have not read him yet, you must.

strange style

the story is good but I found the author's style grating with him constantly pulling the listener out of the story by speaking to the audience directly.

Very funny

It takes getting used to, but it's worth it. It's not really a mystery story, although it is sort of a satire. It's just plain subtly funny.

Wandering plot, no heroes

Story meandered all over the place, not one likeable character. If you're gonna try to write "quirky", you need to give us at least ONE character worth caring about.

Not his best

The narrator does his best but the characters are unlikeable and the plot is not particularly compelling.

A bit boring

I found the narrator and story to be a bit boring. Could not hold my interest.

Not funny enough

I never got to the end of this, and may go back to it. But I just found it went off in too many different directions, and needed to be funnier
