These stories are taken from the original black-and-white Ivor the Engine television series, first broadcast between 1959 and 1962.

Preserved from the original recordings, the audio reflects the production methods of the time and includes some natural variation in sound quality.

In The Festival, the choir's big day is over and everyone heads for the seaside, but Ivor feels left out and begins to wonder whether the fun can really include a little engine. It is a gentle story about belonging, friendship and being remembered.

Restoration note: First recorded in the 1950s, these classic performances have been lovingly remastered using the best surviving source material to provide the finest possible listening experience. While every effort has been made to improve clarity, the age and condition of the original recordings mean that occasional background interference or minor imperfections may still be audible. We hope you enjoy this beautifully restored classic.
