Auch sah er nicht zurück, um zu überblicken,
wie weit er bereits gekommen war.
Beide Hände auf der Brust betete er zu seinem Vater,
während seine Füße wie von alleine durch den Wüstensand gingen.
Die Sonne zog über ihm ihren Bogen,
ließ seinen Schatten von einer Seite zur anderen wandern.
Doch noch ein weiterer Schatten kam hinzu.
