Publisher's Summary
Best-selling authors Margaret Stohl and Melissa de la Cruz bring us a romantic retelling of Little Women starring Jo March and her best friend, the boy next door, Theodore "Laurie" Laurence.
1869, Concord, Massachusetts: After the publication of her first novel, Jo March is shocked to discover her book of scribbles has become a best seller, and her publisher and fans demand a sequel. While pressured into coming up with a story, she goes to New York with her dear friend Laurie for a week of inspiration - museums, operas, and even a once-in-a-lifetime reading by Charles Dickens himself! But Laurie has romance on his mind, and despite her growing feelings, Jo's desire to remain independent leads her to turn down his heartfelt marriage proposal and sends the poor boy off to college heartbroken.
When Laurie returns to Concord with a sophisticated new girlfriend, will Jo finally communicate her true heart's desire or lose the love of her life forever?

So good
Absolutely loved this! Margaret and Melissa perfectly captured the voice of Jo/Lou. The format and storytelling is so good and interesting! You can tell so much love and research went into this story. Phenomenal job! Just as good as Little Women.

Surprisingly Unromantic
I was surprised that the story wasn't very romantic for a "romantic retelling." While the other reviews would have you think this book is a passionate siege, at last breaking down those walls around Jo's heart, there are only perhaps a handful of romantic moments between Jo and Laurie. I also felt the pacing was a bit strange. I really expected to like this book but I didn't. I'm sure many people will and do, but it wasn't for me.

A Romantic Dream
I am so glad that I stumbled across this masterpiece after reading Little Women. I can only hope that one day someone will make it into a movie. Or a mini series. Nothing can be left out. I couldn't stop listening. I laughed, I cried, I hoped. And I was not disappointed

Heartwarming retelling
I thought this was a poignant retelling of a well-known, beloved story. I have always been Team Jo & Laurie so this book satisfied my interests. The plot was a bit predictable, but it was still told in a warm & very likeable way.

Loved this book. Totally recommend
This book was absolutely amazing and as a fan of little woman I think it stayed very true to the original story. Finished in three days and I will read again.
