Publisher's Summary
Joining us at a riverside London hotel is Dame Julie Andrews, DBE, an English actress, singer and author. She has now released her second memoir, Home Work.
Born in Surrey in 1935, Andrews' parents divorced and she originally lived with her father, then moved back to live with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather was turbulent, but he sponsored her voice lessons, and from 1945 Andrews began performing with her mother and stepfather unbilled.
Andrews made her professional solo debut at the London Hippodrome singing the difficult aria 'Je suis Titania' from Mignon in 1947. She then became the youngest solo performer ever to be seen in a Royal Command Variety Performance before King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at the London Palladium aged 13. On 30th September 1954, on the eve of her 19th birthday, Andrews made her Broadway debut portraying Polly Browne in The Boy Friend.
Walt Disney, who had seen Andrews on Broadway, asked her to play Mary Poppins. She won multiple awards for her performance. Andrews also played Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1965), for which she received a Tony Award nomination. She earned her third Oscar nomination for Victor/Victoria (1982).
Andrews was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Screen Actors Guild awards in 2007. She published Home: A Memoir of My Early Years in 2008 and has since been writing children's fiction with her daughter, Emma, as well as collaborating on Andrews' newest memoir Home Work.
We spoke to Julie Andrews about working with Walt Disney, what revisiting her diaries for Home Work revealed to her and what she hopes people will remember her for.

A case of the movie outshining the trailer?
I love Julie Andrews and will absolutely read the book behind in the interview but, as for the interview itself, I didn't find much substance here.

Julie Andrews
This title was way too short. Very upsetting to buy a 7 minute story. I would not recommend this title for such a short period of time.

Adore her
I have been in love with Julie Andrews movies and books since I was a child. Sound of music is above all my favorite. Loved listening to her tell of her experiences. One of the few honest and forthcoming actresses in history.

TV Watermarks & Audible: CEO Carrigan...careless
Dear friend,
When a historical figure is speaking, any author, respect is due, even though barreled over in a culture gone mad, dominated by belligerent corporations.
The last thing we want to hear and should hear is her voice, her story, and the voice of her story impressed upon our hearts and minds, but not with Audible and most all the rest of corporate America, dominating our Republic—a public gone astray.
Our last impression is not left by the content we have paid for nor from the thoughts of a life, to meditation on a message needful. But, of grossly opaque policies, these self-aggrandizing people inflict on the population their trademark, which has nothing to do with what was paid for and needed.
They carelessly, with intentions incorporated above welfare—not even their own, with a greed so gluttonous and blind it burst, they grow like a cancer into our lives.
Dear Bob Carrigan, Audible CEO, fight for change; change!
In Christ, Emmanuel, which means God with us.
Sincerely, Joseph C. Carbone, III; 30 August 2020

Pure class that woman! Only complaint is that it was too short. Also, I would listen to anything Julie Andrews narrates.
