Story
I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

Story
The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

Deacon was rough on the exterior, but apparently on the inside? Mr. Single-and-Ready-to-Mingle was a baby whisperer. After that night, we became friends. He’d go for coffee runs. Come over to chat. Story
You're not supposed to want the one who torments you. When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn't prepared for how much of a jerk he'd be. I hated that he took it out on me because he didn't want to be here. I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room. But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

Story
It all starts as pretend. To everyone else, Hunter is the most powerful man in New York. Respected by his associates and feared by his competitors. But to me? He's just my best friend. my sexy-as-hell best friend. It was easy to agree to help him fake a romance. After all, who knows him like I do? Convincing his tight-knit family takes a little more: An unexpected kiss that makes my skin sizzle, my knees go weak. Before I know it, our banter turns to flirting and Hunter's hell-bent on charming me. On our first night together, we barely keep our hands off each other.

I can’t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister’s wedding. I’m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he’d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then, his plane got delayed. And finally - because bad things always happen in threes - instead of my best friend, his evil twin walks out of the airport. If you looked up doesn’t-deserve-to-be-that-confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Grady Holt. He’s awful.

There are a few things you should know about my brother’s roommate. Wolfie Cox is complicated, and incredibly sexy. Unfortunately, he has an impressive stick lodged so far up his ass, he’s about as emotionally available as a chinchilla. Actually, that might be an insult to the chinchilla community. So, naturally, I want to ride him like a bicycle.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Story
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Story
Being a doctor in New York City has never been easy. Especially for someone like me, who has a private practice and an incompetent staff who insists on leaving me to fill in for them. When my team finally came to their senses and decided to bring someone more competent into the practice last month, I was actually elated. Until I realized that our new "doctor" was none other than the woman I was supposed to meet for dinner two weeks ago. The same woman who stood me up...
Publisher's Summary
From New York Times best-selling author Penelope Ward comes a new stand-alone novel.
The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start.
On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom.
(The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.)
I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat.
So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb - the British guy from the men’s room.
And so it began...my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?
The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons.
Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain.
He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me.
That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was.
So frustrating.
And...
Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet.
And hot.
He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year.
Too bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us - for so many reasons.
I definitely couldn't fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year.

Beautiful Story & A Must Listen!
Every once in awhile there is a story that comes along and gives you "All the Feels" and Penelope Ward hit it out of the park with this novel about young love. Two characters who have their own baggage and heartache as children that find each other as adults in a fate-driven circumstance. While the story text alone is great, the narration team of Andi Arndt & Shane East completely gave a homerun performance making the words come to life. Andi is always great at turning a detached character like Teagen a space to belong and turning on all your emotions for her happiness to survive. Shane is impeccable in his delivery of not just the comedic, smart alec lines that Caleb spouts from emails & texts, but in the loss, heartbreak & falling in love moments quietly spoken.
All the feels is the best statement for this novel! Definitely going into the "repeat listen" category!

Good Book
Caleb and Teagan's first encounter is the funniest part of the book, although there aren't many laughs following, it has more of a serious side when they discover they have feelings for each other they began to open up to each other about their broken past. There are some deep parts. This book was very entertaining. Great narration

This was quite the enjoyable listen! 😁
Awkward meeting to a more awkward second meeting to more awkard meetings lol. A nice slow realistic burn full of getting to know eachother, the good, the bad, and the witheld. 😔❤ I liked this for the journey their relationship takes and the inevitability.

What a beautiful love story
These two people have both undergone turmoil and disappointment in their young lives. An unusual first meeting triggers animosity from Teagan but Caleb sets her straight through an email conversation (which I really enjoyed) and results in a growing relationship. Lots of interesting characters and a lovely conclusion to the story. The two narrators did an amazing job of bringing the storyline to life. Deserves more than a 5 star rating. Well done Penelope.

I love this author alot but the British accents in this book are very annoying. no one from London whom lived the life the main character did would talk like that. As the book went along it became more and more irritating.

Light and easy audio
A wonderful audio to escape with, limited drama, wonderful friendships and great characters. Caleb Yates is studying in America for a year, staying with Teagan Carroll and her family. Both Caleb and Teagan attend the same college, and after a rocky start, a friendship (with a little simmering heat in the making) is formed. The last 30% was my favourite. The first half was nice and easy with both Teagan and Caleb coming to terms with their feelings. A sweet easy romance narrated by two of my favourites, Shane East and Andi Arndt, who are the perfect Caleb and Teagan. One gripe though, why do people think all English people speak with a plum in their mouth. It isn’t so, and it can be frustrating. There are so many dialects used in England and the Queen’s English is only one of them.

A lovely read
I love Penelope’s books and whilst this book was good for me the romance in it was too slow of a burner, I fact so slow that I found that once I started to enjoy them finally getting together that the book was ended lol. The story line was good and I liked the way the author developed a strong friendship and bond between them so that no matter what happened they would always find a way back to one another.
