Story
In a battle of the heart, who will be the first to submit? My name is Jamie Atwood, and I am an idiot. Against all odds, I got the attention of Michael Kage, the hottest MMA fighter on the planet. To say he rocked my world would be an understatement. He transformed me completely, made me depend on him, and made me love him. And the sex? Let me put it this way: I'd never been with a guy before I met Kage, but I'd gladly spend the rest of my life on my knees for him. He is my obsession and my addiction.

My name is Jamie Atwood, and I'm an addict. I never thought I'd say such a thing. Never had a problem being overly attached to anything in my life. I came from a perfectly middle-class family, made good grades, and had a hot cheerleader girlfriend...but the truth is, nothing ever really moved me. So how did a guy like me become an addict? I met Michael Kage. Kage is an MMA fighter. A famous one. I like to think I helped him get that way.

Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Story
Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss? Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years. Two long years of sarcastic comments. Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards. Not surprisingly he has devoted a lot of time to increasingly inventive ways to murder Gabe. From stabbing him with a cake fork, to garrotting him with his expensive tie, Dylan has thought of everything. However, a chance encounter opens his eyes to the attraction that has always lain between them, concealed by the layers of antipathy.
Publisher's Summary
Can their love survive the most shocking revelation?
Sexy college senior Jamie Atwood has fallen hard for MMA dark horse Michael "the Machine" Kage. With his hot, muscled body, intoxicating green eyes, and proclivity for rough sex, Kage is a potent aphrodisiac to the innocent boy next door. The danger, the intrigue, the feel of his strong hand around his throat, the knowledge that his fighter would kill or die for him. From the moment Kage grabbed on to his hips and channeled all that masculine aggression into claiming his body, Jamie was ruined for anyone else.
Passions run high as the lovers try to assimilate into each other's lives: coming out to family and friends, blending into the high-profile MMA world, dealing with Kage's sketchy uncle. But behind Kage's mask of strength and indifference lies a crippling vulnerability and a devastating secret. As the mask comes off, past traumas surface, dark desires spin out of control, and the damaged fighter is driven to hurt the man he loves more than life itself.

Perfect Ending but Sad it's Over!
Perfect ending to the trilogy! I devoured these books and I loved the story and the narration! Kage and Jamie are so great together, they are hot and sweet and just wow! I thought it had the perfect blend of excitement, stress, drama and sex! If Kade was real....I'd start watching MMA fighting. After books 1 & 2 I was curious if 3 would be just as good and I have to say I think it was even better!
This narrator was amazing! Yeah I know I said that in every review of this series but it's so true! He was perfect for this book!

BEST MMA SERIES
I have several MMA series in my library but Kage is by far the best I've listened to. I've purchased several M/M books and returned all of them except Kage and one other. I like stories where sex fits into the story instead of trying to fit a story around sex. This is a story of triumph, growth, and acceptance. It also has suspense, thrills, mystery, and Hot-Hot Sex.
I was immediately hooked on Kage and Kage was immediately hooked on Jamie. Kage notices the gay tendencies in Jamie so he takes advantage of an opportunity to hire Jamie as his personal publicist. Kage didn't realize Jamie was straight and had girlfriend until Jamie arrives the first day. Later it comes out that she's an x-girlfriend.
Kage works on building a relationship with Jamie and Jamie finds himself being attracted to Kage and having sexual thoughts and feelings about him. It never crossed Jamie's mind that he could be gay. Everyone in Kage's inner circle knows Kage is gay.
I usually don't give *Spoilers* but I was so happy for Jamie. When Jamie's parents and friends find out that he and Kage are a couple...all of them are accepting. Jamie's dad doesn't like it but he loves Jamie so he has a talk with Kage about his true intentions toward Jamie.
Now for the Villen. Kage's uncle, Santori, owns a hotel/casino where Kage lives and trains. Since only Kage's inner circle knows he's gay, Santori sees Jamie as a vulnerability and hindrance who will keep Kage from winning the MMA championship.
Santori also has two thugs who do his dirty work.
This series is full of mystery, suspense, thrills, fun, sad secrets, and hot-hot M/M sex.
I was drawn in at the very beginning of the story. I listened to all three books back-to-back and was sad when the series was over.
J. F. Harding is now in my top 5 favorite male performers. His voice for Kage was mesimerizing. He of course also did Jamie's voice, Jamie's parents, siblings, and friends. Also Kage's friends, uncle, thugs, and employees. Every voice was distinctively different and never a concern about who was speaking.
This series is absolutely without doubt worth a credit and I recommend this series to anyone who likes MMA.

My favorite new trilogy
I devoured this series with no regard for sleep or responsibilities. It may be a M/M UFC categorically but it is sooooo much more. The entire series is packed with love, romance, suspense, intrigue, action, family drama and some Hawt M/M action.
This was a new author for me and these won't be the last book I pick up by Maris. Her writing was intentional (if that makes sense) and honest.
JF Harding is one of the best narrators I have listened to. He doesn't have that voice that you seek out but I think that's because he was so believable. It wasn't a performance, you felt like you were listening to real life.
Can't say enough good things.

Fantastic ending to the series
Would you consider the audio edition of Kage Unmasked to be better than the print version?
Did not read the text
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kage Unmasked?
The pantry scene sticks out in my mind :D
Have you listened to any of J. F. Harding’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have! I was first introduced to him through Abi Roux Cut and Run series where he took over for the previous narrator which is usually jarring but I loved his work! He always gives such great depth and character to each individual part.

F@*#!!
I love the first book, the second one was great, but this was my fave! I love the the last 2 books also gave us a glimpse into Kage's head. To be honest, I got slightly annoyed when it went back to Jamie's POV. Lol
But listening to the stuff going on in Kage's head and past, let's just say, I could actually feel my heart breaking. :,( These books have def left an impression on me. I actually think of them as the M/M version of Fifty Shades, sans all the bondage that I'm told is in it lol.
That being said, it's not all about the sex, there are a lot of other things going on as well: dealing with sexuality, coming out, Kage's career, family drama, to name a few. Such a deep and complex story. Luckily for me, I was driving cross country, so had plenty of time to listen. Not sure if I'd be able to function in RL if I was working or going to school. Couldn't stop listening.
Need more Kage! <taps vein> lol

absolutely incredible
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Seriously one of the best trilogies I've ever listened to - great characters!
What other book might you compare Kage Unmasked to and why?
Can't think of anything comparable.
Which scene was your favorite?
The pantry scene... blue hand print (and that's all I can say w/no spoilers)
If you could take any character from Kage Unmasked out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Seriously? Kage - no question asked.
Any additional comments?
The narrator did an absolutely incredible job with this series & I'm looking forward to listening to more of his work. Fantastic!

This trilogy was pretty much perfect. I'm absolutely in love with these books and with Jamie and Kage. I could read three more books about them and would still want more. These were the first books I've read by this author and she has become a favorite already! J.F Harding did a 5 star job. Highly HIGHLY recommended!!

Not at all bad!
This is my first purchase of what I suppose would be categorised as gay romance/erotica. It would be easy to criticise the somewhat cartoon-like characters, the predictable plotlines, the clichés - but it was actually pretty enjoyable. Not everything has to be intellectual challenging or thought-provoking. It was performed creditably (my review covers the whole trilogy, as I wanted to finish the series before making judgement) and was entertaining. My only real criticism is the hurried (almost throwaway) dramatic climax - though if it ever made it to the screen I can see that visually it would be suitably dramatic. Whether I would have tried even the first book, let alone all three if they had not been in the sale is another matter!

Well, you nailed it yet again J.F. Harding!!
This is yet another trilogy which could've been wrapped up in one or two books at the most. If people pay careful attention, they can guess what's going to happen in book 3 so what's the point...other than to get readers to part with yet more money to get to the end of the story??
Anyhoo, mini rant over. I shall definitely be looking out for more JF Harding narrations in the future, and yes, there were a few niggles in this read, but not enough to detract from my overall enjoyment of it.

Worst book of the series
Would you try another book written by Maris Black or narrated by J. F. Harding?
The series started off so well but the story and entertainment went down with each book with this being the most disappointing of all. Was glad to get to finished as it seemed drawn out, just wanted to get to the ending, which turned out to be pretty poor.
Has Kage Unmasked put you off other books in this genre?
No
