Tugdual Meurzen est un jeune peintre mais déjà on apprécie son talent, son parfait "métier"... Un mot qui le laisse insatisfait, irrité.

Ses toiles, il le sent, manquent de liberté, d'âme. En vérité, Tugdual étouffe entre une mère abusive et une sœur à l'esprit sec.

Pourtant, dans cette lumineuse Provence où tous trois font un bref séjour, Tugdual se reprend à espérer. Il a fait la connaissance de Sormagnes, le sculpteur, et de sa petite-fille, Dionysia, au pur et grave visage éclairé par un regard d'aigue-marine.

Sensible au drame qu'elle devine, elle accepte de poser pour un portrait. Et dès les premières esquisses, un nouvel artiste se révèle... deux cœurs se découvrent.

Mme Meurzen va tout tenter pour reprendre son fils. Lui rappeler un ancien, un fatal serment.
