Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Story
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends, and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Publisher's Summary
Illusions shatter - and Sophie and her friends face impossible choices - in this astonishing eighth book in the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series.
Sophie Foster wants answers. But after a lifetime of lies, sometimes the truth is the most dangerous discovery. Even the smallest secret comes with terrifying new responsibilities.
And Sophie’s not the only one with blank spots in her past, or mysteries surrounding her family. She and her friends are part of something much bigger than they imagined - and their roles have already been chosen for them.
Every clue drags them deeper into the conspiracy. Every memory forces them to question everything - especially one another. And the harder they fight, the more the lines blur between friend and enemy.

Spoilers ahead(Sorry couldn't help it)
Looooooooooved it....
They're my heroes. All hail the 12 for breaking up the great fitzpie...
But do you realize how many of the nastiest little microbes are that color(teal blue), so I went with the nice Ice blue, the kind of color you can't help but love...
And Sophie could feel soft vibration against his chest where her cheek was as he laughed...
And she believed him...
But she spent those extra 5 minutes to cheer up a stuck at home grumpy guy to buy him all sorts of cookies he wanted....
Chapter 18- and Keefe leaned back against the arm of the large cusion swing they had been sharing, watching the sun slowly sink towards the ocean...
That's our girl, knew she was going to foster it - Keefe ....
Smoooooooth hunkyboy really smoooooth....
A fresh start....
I'm never stuck with you foster, some day I'm going to make you see that...
Chapter 36 cover scene
Look at their little faces- keefe
I think all baby alicorns can do it- Keefe to Sophie
That's the best anyone has ever done for me....
So she could squeeze into his chair and wrap her arms around him...
That you and our pretty blonde moonlark probably understand each other better than anybody- Ro suggested...
Wanting to smack him(Fitz) for that kind of snarky comment....
No Fitz, my life, I make my decisions...
A giant toxic cloud over them which had been lifted...
They hadn't even kissed - Sophie.... 😁😁😁😁😁😁☺️☺️☺️☺️😍😍😍😍
Her breakup was a good thing.....
She wanted her mom.....
Everything okay- Keefe asked...
Okay- Keefe said... Chapter 46
She saw Keefe's eyes closed too....
When I checked his dreams it was something about an army of efl shaped cookies....😂😂😂
Looked like someone who hadn't left for three days( Keefe earlier in book & Sophie in chapter 52)....
She started wishing on them(her eyes lashes) every time when one slipped free....
Just friends 😁, Fitz( for now at least 🙄)...
Right now only 1 thing mattered ( Keefe) - Sophie
She tried to chanel Keefe's confidence as she said, Bring it on.... 😍😏

For those of you that say it’s boring
For those of you that say it’s boring do you understand that everything needs a backstory and if you’re interested in the long Hall of everything that’s going on in Sophie‘s life You have to understand that if things were simpler the story would’ve been done with and also nobody would’ve read it again. I understand this is A book for children or I would say preteens. Everyone that says that they want their fantasies to be all sunshine butter cups and full of daisies really wants to pretend like reality isn’t painful. Think of it as a dream when you jump into a book you have your twist interns and then you have the sheer bliss and happiness at the end you have a couple of good moments and a couple bad moments I’m actually very happy that Sophie is being a teenager she doesn’t need to worry about love it does distract she needs to worry about being a leader I do love the Fitz or Keth I love them both but I also love all the other characters in between and to me I’m curious to know who the new character is. I love the books they have not let me down yet I think it’s a little obnoxious that I have to wait a whole year for another book but at least this book wasn’t too short and it took me a few days to get through it. I will definitely be listening to it again and seeing what I’ve missed because I do fall asleep. Show me the series is worth reading I think it’s a little obnoxious how she has to explain certain abilities over and over and over again it’s like people don’t have funny moment “ Photo genic memory” read it yourself you’ll see that Sophie is in love with more than one boy in her mind is starting to realize it and that is the only spoiler that I’m giving happy listening.

Another emotional leap for the Keepers!
I'll never grow tired of this series! Such a world and charaters are profound and loveable! I was on the fence between Fitzpie and Sokeefe, but I'm more leaning toward Sokeefe after this one! I cannot wait for the next installment!

Love this book to the moon and back.
I started reading the first KOTLC book for a book report and a immediately fell in love with all of the characters and the story line. This is the first audio book that I’ve heard for the series since I won’t be getting my hard copy for a few months. I’ve recommend this book to all of the readers in my life and they have all loved it. Thanks Audible for the audiobook and thank you Shannon Messenger for these amazing books and for not giving us too much of a cliffhanger like book 4.
