When he proposed international controls over atomic materials, opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb, and criticized plans for a nuclear war, his ideas were anathema to powerful advocates of a massive nuclear buildup during the anti-Communist hysteria of the early 1950s.

Tragedy of Brilliance
- By Phenomenon on 08-09-23
Publisher's Summary
In the past two decades, mutual funds have emerged as the preferred investment option for Indians. They offer liquidity, and ease of entry and exit, along with potentially higher returns. This, in turn, makes mutual funds a natural choice over traditional investment options such as gold, real estate and fixed deposits.
However, while the popularity of mutual funds has increased in India, the ability to use them to our advantage has not. Investors are frozen by the choices they face with thousands of mutual fund options.
Bestselling author and India's most respected financial writer Monika Halan is back! And this time she's talking mutual funds. In easy, simplified terms, Halan demystifies mutual funds and shows you how to make the most of them. From managing your cash flow and planning your children's education to getting your own house and preparing for retirement, Let's Talk Mutual Funds sets you on the path to achieving your financial goals. No tips. No tricks. Just a smart system to get mutual funds to work for you.

One of the best books on personal finance
Most of the best selling books on personal finance caters predominantly to the American readers. I was searching for a good book that educates on managing personal finance in India. This book and it's predecessor (Lets talk Money) perfectly fulfilled my quest.
Even though the title is about Mutual funds, this book explains a lot more including asset allocation, management, taxes etc.,
A Must Read!

Ok for early investors
The book takes a very cautious approach to investing. As a long time investor I expected some insights into the market. But it's just a compilation of very low yield and safe basics of investing to keep the author safe from lawsuits. Also this is a financial book, there was no need for making the book longer with irrelevant instances and examples.

Best Indian Book on Mutual Funds
Monika has explained the Indian Mutual Funds in an easy to understand friendly manner. i listened to the audio book, and it kept me engrossed until I finished listening to the entire book. If Let's Talk Money, was Good, this is even better. A must read/listen for the first time investor, and equally useful for those who have been trudging through the complexity of mutual fund investment.

i would give 6 stars for story
This book is a must read and must hear. I started my foray into markets during the covid crisis when i was stuck at home and did not have anything to do. Much of what I learned came from my peers and friends who are stockbrokers and my early careful dabbling in the markets with guidance from uncles' who trade regularly. Most of my 3 year journey under their collective guidance is summarised in this 8 hour read. I simply love every word of what's written here. I didn't listen just once, I went back over and over, back and forth, took notes, then compared to my own journey. I still learned quite a few things from this book. I am in the process of consolidating now and I realise from this book that consolidation is a lifelong journey. I only wish this book had come out in 2020 and I had read / listened to it at that time and then started my journey. Many anxious moments may have been spared. Highly recommended.
