Order the enthralling new story of murder and lies from the number one Sunday Times best-selling author of You'll Never See Me Again.

In a Shepherd's Bush bedsit, Amelia White dreams of being a reporter. The closest she's come is selling advertising in the local paper.

Until the fateful day she stumbles on a truly shocking scoop.

Round the corner from her home, she discovers the body of a murder victim, dumped among the rubbish. When the police and reporters descend, Amelia is horrified at the assumptions made and lies soon to be spread about this poor young woman.

Determined to protect the victim from these smears and help her grieving family, she convinces her paper's editor to allow her to take up her pen and tell the true story. But when another body is found and the police investigation stalls, Amelia - uncovering new witnesses and suspects in her search for clues - discovers that she may be the only one with any chance of learning the truth and stopping more killings.

If only she can work out who the liar is.

Liar

It took far too long to get to the point. Everyone back stories are too bleak. A bit depressing.

What's happened to Lesley Pearse novels??

I don't know if it because I'm now listening to Lesley Pearse books rather than reading them but agree with one of the reviews that this book (and her last few) did not feel like a Lesley Pearse book. When I think back to the Belle Series and other greats like Trust Me, Remember Me, Never Look back....this just does not compare. I always used to be totally enthralled with Lesley Pearse stories but Liar is quite dull and predictable and did not really hold my interest. I didn't feel invested in any of the characters. It was strange in that it made reference to the 70's but the descriptions put me in mind of the 50's. Overall this story felt half hearted and as if not much thought had gone into it and left me wondering sadly if LP has simply ran out of material :(

What happened?

This book was awful from start to finish not at all like Lesley Pearse who is my favourite author. The story was ridiculous and unbelievable and the narrator did nothing to improve it

Disappointing

I was really looking forward to listening to this book, as I didn’t enjoy the last few, and was really hoping this would be better, sadly it wasn’t. I would suggest the earlier books, as the story lines, are a lot stronger, and the length of the books longer, I don’t think I will be listening to further books, from this author.

not up to Lesley's normal high standards .

I didn't feel like this was a Lesley Pearse book . I struggled to finish it . predictable from the start and just a weak story line in comparison to all of Lesley's other books . I was disappointed.
but I look forward to Lesley's next book .

Not the adventure I had hoped

Another good book by my favourite author, but sadly not the adventure I had hoped for. It was my first one as an audible too.. Which I won't do again. I'm new to audible and think will now end my subscription. I hated the male voice put on by a female narrator. Not the vivid voices I imagine in my own head when reading. Kind of spoilt it for me. Enjoyed it, but not my favourite.

Nothing like older Lesley Pearse books

Felt very linier, bit childlike in story telling-this happened then this then this, the end. Much prefer Lesley's older books which delved into cultures and eras in a much more diverse and interesting way.

Another great storyline but ....

Another great story by Lesley Pearse, but I found it really distracting, the way the narrator used exactly the same intonation throughout, irrespective of the meaning!

Worst book I’ve read Lu Lesley

I’ve read all Lesley’s books for years but this one was dreadful. Completely unrealistic, no reason fir the time setting, and very hard to plough through. Sad as I’ve avidly read all her books before this and loved them.

Drama

As always another amazing story that takes you through all the emotions, twists and turns that only Lesley Pearse's can and always beautifully narrated by Lucy Brownhill.

Disappointing

Not one of Lesley Pearce’s best.
The story was a bit far fetched and very simplistic in its writing. I guessed the plot ‘twists’ well ahead of time.
The narration was disappointing and without feeling or emotion.

Another Classic Lesley Pearse

This had me hooked from beginning to end - twists and turns all the way and written in Lesley's usual intuitive style.

Great narration .........she has a sweet voice.

I really don’t know what to say about this book. Did I enjoy it? I’ve no idea. It’s a very silly story. I’m too old for these books. Not really murder stories.......silly love stories. Which I hate. Give me a intense murder not a love story.
