About this listen

As the title intimates, Lost Man's Lane features the second appearance of New York City spinster Amelia Butterworth, who first appeared in Green's murder mystery novel entitled That Affair Next Door. In it, we are introduced to both Butterworth and New York police detective Ebenezer Gryce, a crusty and aging police officer whose first meeting with the woman results in the pair working together to identify the killer. In Lost Man's Lane, Gryce reaches out to Butterworth to help solve the secret behind several persons who have disappeared in a small country village, whose inhabitants happen to be the offspring of her childhood friend.
