The original French title of Main Gumsuda is "Rue des Boutiques Obscures", which translates to "Street of Dark Shops" in English.
Even without the audiobook version, the translated book itself (available in print via publishers like Rajpal & Sons) offers a compelling and mysterious narrative. Modiano’s prose, known for its haunting and introspective quality, resonates well even in translation.
