The hunt is finally over.

FBI agent Atlee Pine is at the end of her long journey to discover what happened to her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted when the girls were just six years old – an incident which destroyed her family and left Atlee physically and mentally scarred.

She knew her sister and parents were out there somewhere. And she had to find them. Dead or alive.

Atlee and her assistant, Carol Blum, discover the truth. But the truth hurts. And hurt makes you tough. So how tough do you have to be to forgive?

As they uncover a shocking trail of lies, greed, fear and revenge, they must face one final challenge. A challenge more deadly and dangerous than they could ever have imagined . . .

Critic Reviews

Multilayered and brutal, this is a fitting conclusion to Pine’s quest – but hopefully not the last we’ll see of her
A riveting brain-teaser as well as serving up vivid action scenes (Sunday Times on Daylight)
A fabulous new character from a master storyteller. Readers will love Atlee Pine (Jane Harper on Long Road to Mercy)
Narrators Brittany Pressley and Kyf Brewer sparkle in the suspenseful final chapter of the Atlee Pine series. FBI agent Atlee Pine searches for her twin sister, Mercy, in a nonstop, action-packed thriller full of sharp twists and turns. Fans of the series will not be disappointed with Pressley and Brewer as they deliver another roller-coaster ride of a story with these well-loved Baldacci characters. Pressley’s narration drives the story and is pitch perfect in capturing Atlee’s strength, skill, and smarts as she faces the ultimate danger in this breathless listen.

Loved the story and the narrators were brilliant! Hoping this series continues. Maybe Britt Spector will have a separate series (fingers crossed).

Absolutely breathtaking narration

My general comment is that Mr Baldacci can reduce the size of most of his books by a third, and be far more readable.

Of the 4 books in the series, this one was the best. Perhaps because of the closure. But it still is 33% too long.

Finally completed the 4 books in the Atlee Pine series
