Mia ist sieben und wütend. Seit sie mit ihrer Familie in ein neues Haus gezogen ist, hat sich alles verändert. Ihre beste Freundin ist plötzlich nicht mehr ihre beste Freundin, in ihrem neuen Zimmer gibt es noch nicht einmal Vorhänge und jetzt muss auch noch ihre Mutter ins Krankenhaus. Schlimmer kann es echt nicht mehr werden. Doch dann lernt Mia Lora besser kennen, die so verrückte Sachen macht, wie mit einem Schwimmring Schlitten zu fahren, und freundet sich mit ihrer netten Nachbarin, der alten Frau Stein, an. Und mit einem Mal merkt sie: Das Leben ist gar nicht so grau in grau. In Wirklichkeit ist es wunderbar bunt!
