About this listen
A shapeshifter who possesses magic shouldn't exist, and some people want to keep it that way.
My life will never be simple again. As a werewolf who is a host to a powerful spirit shade, I possess the ability to manipulate magic, among other things-and that means I have many enemies. In need of allies, I join the Midwest Pack.
Being part of the pack is supposed to make things better. It doesn't. After performing a powerful spell to protect Ethan, I'm punished and cursed by the Creed, the ruling body of the witches, who will do anything to get rid of me.
While seeking a way to lift my curse, the pack find themselves tasked with guarding a book of magic that everyone wants, including the Creed. In the wrong hands, it can destroy the otherworld and ignite a battle that no one can win.
Pulled into the Midwest Pack's clandestine world of strange politics, dark secrets, and hidden dangers makes me wonder if joining the pack was a bad decision. I'm enticed when a powerful and mysterious witch claims he can make it all stop: break the curse, stop the rivalries, even undo my lycanthropy.
But the witch's help comes at a price-the betrayal of my pack. Which will I choose?
©2015 McKenzie Hunter (P)2017 Tantor• but it doesn't make it easier to have to listen to the absurd behaviour ml displays towards fl whether it's social or romantic which has just slightly improved since past 3 books.
• and only redemption being that most people here including ml have a low limit to how low they'll go and they live by a code as low as it could be. so they end up surprising you when they act like a decent person for once.
• atleast other worse people or people as bad as him else have either improved or atleast moved away from fl so I don't have to sympathize with fl for being in the same room as them.
• but despite these extreme greys, while i wish ml well (without getting people he doesn't deserve), but i wished fl never romances ml and atleast she's avoiding making it official but a high probability it'll happen but it'd be a pleasant surprise if fl ends up with someone else (despite the fact that they're all similarly bad at relationships with minor differences of how toxic it could get).
• unless ml changes drastically, which is usually too much to ask in fiction or irl, people may be step up by 1-3 levels but ml would have a 100 levels to breakthrough personality and morals wise.
I'm listening for the funny, well woven supernatural world of the story,fl and other charas.
