Publisher's Summary

Blake Monroe hasn't had the easiest life, but she's never been one to dwell on her misfortunes, preferring to see the world as a place where you get what you give. Having had an especially troubling childhood, Blake's aware she doesn't exactly fit the definition of "normal". Her lack of filter, dry sense of humor, and uncanny ability to read people make her rather unique - and difficult to live with. When her latest roommate has had enough of her antics, Blake decides living with a man might suit her better.

Gavin Gibson's a dreamer whose artsy aspirations don't meet the high expectations of his wealthy family. Cast off and cut off, Gavin needs a place to live. When he's invited to share Blake's quaint apartment, he cannot pass it up. With a knack for spotting the good in others, Gavin can see past Blake's quirks - and neither of them can ignore their sexual chemistry. As sparks fly, their genuine affection for each other grows, and Gavin begins to break down Blake's defenses. But can Blake open up to reveal the damage she's worked so hard to conceal?

I tried...

I really did try. I made it to Chapter 6 before I had to quit. So not my sense of humor - It's like talking to a 13 yr old and every response is ...ugh ok -
You could tell the narrators actually gave it their all but it didn't save this story.
Sadly I don't like to be such a debbie downer on an authors hard work, but I'll give her kudos for the main heroine acting like a millennial.

Love Blake!

I love quirky, strong and sassy heroines in stories and Blake is definitely up there! The narration was okay- not fabulous but okay.

Meh....

There was a lot of confusion for me in this story. It just didn’t seem to capture my attention and I felt like I just didn’t love the characters. I listened all the way through and enjoyed it, but it wasn’t one of my favorite “Misadventure” books.

Wow

This book was another hit with me. I loved how Blake had no filter. I am loving this series and hope to be to complete the series this year.

Just Okay

This is my second Misadventures book and so far I haven't really liked either one. This one was okay. I liked Gavin but I found Blake to be whiny. She talked about how she didn't want people to feel sorry for her because of how she was raised but acted like they should feel sorry for her. I thought Gavin was really sweet and caring to her and she treated him like garbage. I don't know why he even wanted her.

I loved Jacob Morgan of course, but Sarah McEwan sounded like a little child and threw the whole narration off.

Good Humor

I found this one to be pretty funny. Blake is this quirky girl that says whatever comes to her mind. Gavin is her co-worker roommate that likes her quirkiness, They just mesh good together. Blake has lots of issues because of how she grew up but Gavin kind of helps her to see that it's ok an that not everyone will leave her like she believes. I gave it 3 stars only because I do not care for stories narrated in the style of narration (not sure of what the style is called).

Meh.....

It wasn't what I expected it would be. I think the narration of the girl made me think of high school kids not adults in this story. She sounds like a kid and pretty much acts like one too. I got bored with it fast.
