Fake. That's what we are. That's what we agreed to be. So why does it feel so real? I thought it would have been harder, convincing everyone our school's star receiver was mine and mine alone, but I was wrong. We played our parts so well that the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, is that someone's always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.

He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous. That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that. And this is our story.

One glance and he issues his death sentence. His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos. “I will destroy you.” Everything about Aiden King is black. Black mind. Black heart. Black soul. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Story
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Down London Road, the unmissable sensual sequel to On Dublin Street by bestselling author Samantha Young. Read by Elle Newlands. Johanna Walker knows what she wants. And that’s a strong, steady, financially secure man who will treat her well and look after her and her little brother, Cole - something her parents have never done.
Publisher's Summary
From the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of On Dublin Street: Enter a world of fierce wolves, stunning magic, and romance.
It’s bad enough feeling different among the human crowd, but feeling different among wolves? No one said returning to her pack would be easy, especially after ten years without them, but 17-year-old Caia Ribeiro is unprepared for the realities of the transition. Raised in a world where kids aren’t scared by bedtime tales of the bogeyman but by the real life threat of enemy supernaturals who might come creeping into their community to kill them in their sleep, Caia is used to the darkness; she’s used to the mystery and the intrigue of the ancient underworld war she’s bound to by chance of birth.
What she’s having trouble with are pack members treating her with wary suspicion, the Elders tucking secrets behind their backs, and her young Alpha, Lucien, distracting her with a dangerous attraction from her decision to uncover the truth.
But as the saying goes "the truth will out", and when it does, Caia will only have so long to prepare herself before the war comes pounding on their door threatening to destroy the safe, secret lives of the wolves…and the girl they protect.

Disaster!
The narration for this is a complete disaster! I've never heard a narrator that was such a bad fit for a book in my life! Lucinda Gainey should be a children's book narrator, who knows, maybe she is. But this? Horrific.
As far as the story, I really like Samantha Young, so can't go wrong with that. However, I am now reading it, not listening to it.

The narrator bored me to death
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Ahhh the narration!
Would you recommend Moon Spell to your friends? Why or why not?
The book yes.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I feel bad saying it, because this narrator would be perfect for historical fiction or a romantic novel. But in a young adult book, she way way wayyyy missed the mark. She talked so slow, I actually used the speed option on audible just to make the book bearable. And also, she sort of made everyone sound "nice." Like these are grown men angry werewolves or this angst-y teenager, but you couldn't tell. She sounded like a nice little old lady. Weirdest narrator choice for a book I have listened to yet. And the whole time, I kept thinking, just get through this book- surely they used a different narrator in the 2nd book. But no, same one. These books are being returned for the damage they did to narrated books everywhere.
Beware before you buy! I highly suggest listening to a sample of this one!
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I can't see this becoming a movie. It fits very nicely into paranormal werewolf genre, but the story wasn't that gripping that I think it would even be optioned for a movie.
Any additional comments?
Oy. This one scarred me,

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME
This book is badly written the narrator doesn't have hardly any emotion and the emotions she does have made no sense for the area of the book she was reading the story is bland and makes no sense it is weak and predictable I will be exchanging this travesty of a disgrace wanting to call itself a book
