Reading Muf*cka: A Bold New Perspective on Growth, Healing, and Self-Acceptance feels less like reading a book and more like sitting across the table talking to Reggie. He's telling stories about his life, laughing about things that happened years ago, and talking about some things that weren't so easy to deal with. Reggie was just one month old when he survived a house fire that left him with permanent scars. He doesn't remember the fire itself, but he has plenty of memories of what it was like growing up as a burn survivor. The stares. The bullying. The insecurities. Feeling different from everybody else. Even as a little boy, Reggie just wanted to be himself. The problem was, that wasn't always easy. He talks about growing up, his childhood friendships, his parents getting divorced, family vacations, embarrassing moments, and things that happened decades ago that he still remembers like they were yesterday. Some of those memories aren't easy to talk about. Others are funny as hell. And some are things he didn't really understand until he got older. He also talks about going to therapy and how much it helped him understand himself. He started looking back at things that happened when he was a kid and realizing how much some of that stuff had stayed with him. Therapy helped him connect the dots, understand why he felt certain ways, and finally get to a place where he could accept himself for who he was. And the way Reggie tells these stories is just as much a part of the book as the stories themselves. He jokes around, gets sidetracked, remembers little details, and sometimes has to laugh at himself. He talks about the good stuff, the painful stuff, and some things that are just plain embarrassing. And he doesn't clean up his language just because he's writing a book. Pull up a chair. Reggie's got some stories to tell.©2021 Reginald Hathorn (P)2022 Reginald Hathorn Self-Help Success
