About this listen

My Man Jeeves, first published in 1919, introduced the world to affable, indolent Bertie Wooster and his precise, capable valet, Jeeves. Some of the finest examples of humorous writing found in English literature are woven around the relationship between these two men of very different classes and temperaments. Where Bertie is impetuous and feeble, Jeeves is coolheaded and poised.

This audiobook, the first collection of Jeeves and Wooster stories, includes "Absent Treatment", "Helping Freddie", "Rallying Round Old George", "Doing Clarence a Bit of Good", "Fixing It for Freddie", and "Bertie Changes His Mind".

This was my first Book of P G Wodehouse. It includes 8 different stories. Most stories start with the introduction of some peculiar character who has an even stranger relative or friend. Our 2 main protagonists Wooster and Jeeves try to help this fellow from a tricky situation. Wooster has won a rich inheritance and he is totally dependent on Jeeves for the brain department. More often than not, their first attempt at helping someone ends up exacerbating the situation. But ultimately, Jeeves comes up with an ingenious solution.

The situations, various characters, the language used are all quite amusing and highly enjoyable. I listened to the audiobook on audible. Really good narration by Jonathan Cecil.
Overall, good fun and stress buster.

highly entertaining

J. Cecil is one of the best people to read PGW stories. His crisp clear voice makes the audiobook much pleasure to listen to. The book is also an amazing read on it's own.

Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, Jonathan Cecil's performance was spectacular. The book itself had several laugh-out-loud moments. This was my first PG Wodehouse and I'll certainly be back for more.

Hilarious stuff!
