ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಲೇಖಕ ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್. ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರ 'ನಾಯಿ ನೆರಳು' ಒಂದು ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮನೋರಂಜಕ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ. ೨೪೦ ಪುಟಗಳಿರುವ ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯನ್ನು ಲೇಖಕರು ಕೇವಲ ಮೂರು ವಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ಮುಗಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಿರುಮಲ ಜೋಯಿಸರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗುವ ಕಾಲ ದಾಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಗ ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಚೀರಿ ಮೂರ್ಚೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಎಂದೂ ಎಚ್ಚರ ಆಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಬೆಳೆದು ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಈ ಹುಡುಗ ತನಗೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳ ತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಬೇರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಡನೆ ಬೆರೆಯದೆ ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನಾಯಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವಿರತವಾಗಿ ಜೊತೆಗಿರತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆ ನಾಯಿಯ ನೆರಳು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಬೆಳೆಯ ತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮದ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರು ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಿಂದಿನ ಜನ್ಮದ ತಂದೆ ಬಂದು ಜೋಯಿಸರ ಬಳಿ ಕೇಳುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷ ವಿಧವಾ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಹೆಂಡತಿ (?)ಯೊಡನೆ ಸಂಸಾರ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮಗುವೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಎರಡು ಪಾತಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರ ನಿರೂಪಣಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿಯಂತಿದೆ. ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಓದು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಓದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ಅದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.©2022 Storyside IN (P)2022 Storyside IN Asian World Literature

I am very happy that kannada books are on Audible. But the are errors in editing. There are a lot of places in the book where lines are repeated twice. The story is amazing
