Publisher's Summary

After her rescue of nearly 50 kidnapped children made international headlines, Amara Alvarez gets what she's worked for: a transfer to San Antonio's Homicide Division. Reality sets in quickly, though, as her first case, the suspicious death of a teenager at a crowded local water park, brings chaos to her personal life.

As the investigation moves forward, and she increases the pressure on the suspects, Amara finds herself under attack by cybercriminals. Her every move is being potentially watched online, and she's forced to resort to unconventional methods to find the killer. With few leads, she fights to keep her first murder investigation from ending up in the cold case files.

Tom Threadgill is back with another riveting pause-resister featuring the detective who is willing to put everything on the line to see that justice is served and lives are protected.

New favorite author

It is an authentic read. The dialogue is believable, the characters are well developed without stereotypes, situation and settings seem genuine, and something that is becoming bothersome to me, there is no politicalization. And most important the author can spin a yarn without resorting to vulgarity, descriptive sexual encounters. Well done Mr Threadgill.

Very Entertaining

Loved the story and the characters actually found myself laughing out loud with co-workers staring. Hopeful there will be more books in the series.

Tom Threadgill author crush!

I just discovered Threadgill and I've listened to everything he's done so far. Great great story. And yes Alma Cuervo is my new Narrator crush! He has found a way to have all the thrill and suspense without all the bad language and sex. I'm a forever fan!

Good Clean Suspense.

I really have enjoyed Tom Threadgill books. Intense but don't have the unnecessary f-bombs through out. Also, no unnecessary sexuality drama. just good clean suspense with the necessary murder here and there. I can listen with my 15 year old, and have purchased the books for my college son. Looking forward to more with the characters we have come to bond with.

Narrator, learn how to pronounce

Bexar is NOT pronounced with the “x”. The x is silent! “Bear” It’s pronounced bear county. This almost ruined the book for me.

Pretty Good

I saw others complaining about narrator but I found nothing wrong there. Story was interesting though not the best I've ever listened to. It kept my interest which is better than most of the books I've bought recently. In general I recommend it.

Horrible narrator

As poorly written as this novel was, the narrator only made it worse. Story felt like it was written by a teenager.

Excellent!

Threadgill never disappoints! Each character and storyline are interesting and believable. This series is especially so because of the main character.
