Publisher's Summary

Kit Colbana is always biting off more than she can chew. She has a knack for finding trouble. This time, though, trouble finds her. Someone from her past drops a case into her lap that she just can't refuse...literally.

People on the Council are dying left and right and she's been requested to investigate the deaths. The number one suspect? Her lover, Damon. If she doesn't clear his name, he gets a death sentence. Even if she succeeds? They still might try to execute him. Oh, and she's not allowed to tell him about the case, either.

The stakes are high this time around, higher than they've ever been. Kit may be forced to pay the ultimate price to save her lover's life...a price that could destroy her and everything she loves.

Very underwhelming storyline

This book was patchy and felt unfinished, especially towards the end where there seemed to be part of the story missing. The story was based on Kit not telling her boyfriend what she was doing for work and him having a hissy fit. Because she spent a few days busy with stuff he didn’t know about, Kit felt terrible and was worried the whole book he would be upset. Who cares if he’s upset- tell him to grow up, she’s an adult and she deserves respect and trust.

Ironically Damon goes off without telling her where he is or what he is doing, but that isn’t mentioned, even though he is a hypocrite. The spat they have finally is one sided and involves Damon yelling he wants Kit now, and she doesn’t comply, he then accuses her of not trusting him enough - this is just stupid and weird, e has been hiding all his actions from her. He doesn’t even respect her enough to involve her in his decision to visibly mark her body so everyone knows she belongs to him.

I can’t understand hat when Kit finally gets angry with Damon, se focuses on her inability to tell him the truth rather than that he just generally treated her like shit and bullied her to get what he wanted.

Book 2

What a wild ride! Emotional ups and the bottom low. The mystery of what and why deaths are occurring will tear Kit a part and forever change her...into what is yet to be determined. Looking forward to book 3.

Perfect Blend of Story and Narration

What made the experience of listening to Night Blade the most enjoyable?

Excellent plot, strong characters and the narration all worked so well together. I will definitely continue with this author and narrator. A really good series!
