About this listen

She’s a librarian. He’s a movie star. Someone wants them dead.

Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions.

Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Caught in a high-stakes cliffhanger, it’s up to the leading man and his unlikely love interest to save the day, defeat the bad guys and maybe—just maybe—earn their own happy ending.

Lights. Camera. Run for your life.

Could've been a fun story but it was just trying to hard. Emotions felt overarching & unnatural.

meh

Enjoyed every minute of this book. The story is fast paced, not a single dull moment.
Perhaps the conversations between the protagonists could have been shortened, otherwise every bit of it.

Thoroughly entertaining

Rating : 4.5/5

In a world where fame hides secrets and danger lurks behind the scenes, a fearless librarian and a reckless movie star become the most unlikely duo in a real-life thriller that’s equal parts heart-pounding and heartwarming.

Okay, Once Upon A Crime wasn’t what I expected at all—in the best way possible! It’s thrilling, full of sharp twists, and just plain fun to listen to. And let’s talk about those twists... they were actually good! Unexpected, clever, and timed perfectly to keep me on edge.

I don’t usually gravitate toward thrillers, but this one had me hooked. It’s not the dark, gritty kind—it leans into the light-hearted, rom-com side of the genre. And it totally works. The chemistry between Griffin and Lana felt natural and unforced, which is so rare in plots like this.

The characters were brilliantly written, each adding depth and personality to the story. And the narration? Spot on! It felt like the characters themselves were telling the story, making it feel more like I was watching a movie than listening to an audiobook. I might be addicted now!

If you're looking for a romance-thriller combo with rom-com energy, Once Upon A Crime is the perfect pick. It’s got charm, suspense, heart, and just the right amount of chaos to keep every kind of reader entertained!
