 「白く塗りたる墓」は、1960年代の高度成長期における公害汚染や原子力発電所の安全などの社会問題をベースに、報道機関の公器性や良心を問うた意欲作。

TVカメラの持つ同時性から一躍花形産業となったTV報道の視座をフィルターにして、現実と報道との葛藤に苦悩するテレビマンの狂気と孤独もドラマティックに描いている。

もう１作は、ニヒリストの医者の堕落と病院に関わる人間の業を描いた「もう一つの絆」。共に第１部までの未完作であるが、著者の新境地ともいえる作品で、現代に連なる荒廃を予見している秀作である。
