About this listen

Persuasion, Jane Austen's last novel, is a tale of love and marriage told with irony and insight. Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth have met and seperated years before. Their reunion, after the passage or irrecoverable years of their youth, forces a recognition of the false values that drove them apart.First published 1818. Anne Elliot is the loveliest of them all. My love for Persuasion is an undying one. I'm glad to have known its existence and better to have read it over and over again. It has the right amount of sarcasm, social commentary, variety of characters ,lessons in patience and an introverted heroine. Will read it every year.

The loveliest book

Persuasion was the last complete work of Jane Austen. This performance is masterful, expertly done and interesting voices. I highly recommend it.

Arguably the most profound work of Jane Austen. Artfully written, slow-paced, and very well narrated.
