Publisher's Summary

She has a head for business and a body for sin.

He is a coach who knows how to use his equipment.

Neither is looking for love.

Should be easy, right?

Wrong.

This might be the most important game Kendall Wales and Hunter Owens have ever played where everything is on the line.

With one wrong play, they could lose it all.

Hopefully, the game clock doesn’t reach zero before it’s too late.

A not quite hit

This is a story about Hunter Owens & Kendall Wales. Hunter is a former NFL coach that due to a tragedy one season, has refused to return to coaching anywhere. Until, Minor League General Manager, Kendall shows up out of the blue at his Tennessee ranch. In my opinion, he caved too easily, it didn't seem believable. And she was far too wishy washy to be the strong heroine. The story had a lot of extra shenanigans (for lack of a better word) thrown in to "add" to the story and the last few chapters were more like an epilogue. I listened to the audio version, which had two fantastic narrators with Savannah Peachwood & Stephen Dexter.

Started Out Good

The first part of this book Kendall was a tough woman who didn't take crap. Actually even Hunter was tougher, but somewhere along the line the authors lost that fight and turned the characters into cringe worth lushes. I'm all for characters changing and having a softer side but these characters turned cheesy. I almost couldn't wait for this book to end. There were also sex scenes thrown in that were just for sex scenes. They didn't really advance the story at all. I'm also not against sex scenes if they advance the story and aren't just thrown in as filler material. The story was decent and I did finish and that's the reason I gave it 3 stars. Since I really like Kelly Elliott and have read several of her books, I'm going to almost assume that it's Kristin Mayer who mess this book up.

So well written and narrated

I'll keep things short and sweet. This is a great, feel-good story. I also love the narrators used for this book. I thought they fit the characters really well. Give it a listen, you won't regret it!

Like a Hallmark movie

This was a decent story. Very light listen. At some points it was a bit cheesy though.
Both narrators were good, but Stephen Dexter reading as Kendall was cringe worthy. This seems to be a common problem with male narrators trying to do female parts so it’s not just him.

highly reccomend

I took a chance on this new author duo and I am so happy that I did. I would compare the writing of this book right up there with my other 1st pick reads of Max Monroe, Pippa Grant, Lili Valente, J.S. Scott, Jayne Rylon, and Kendall Ryan.
Each of these named authors can and does write one he'll of a romance book, some with unexpected humor and all of them can tell one heck of a story.
This book is full of the push and pull of any normal romance and has a great cast of characters. So just grab your copy sit back and enjoy. Happy reading.

OMG So Well Written

I didn’t think I would like this book as much as I did. It was so funny. I laughed out loud various times throughout the book. I loved that the author made the females strong career driven but loving.

Really enjoyed it

I didn’t actually realise this had any links to ‘the play book’ which I read a few months ago. I loved that story so I was pleased to be able to read more about the Owens family. This is another well written story and isn’t over the top like some books I’ve read lately. I love the main characters but also their families. It can be read on its own as knowing about Hunters parents and how they met doesn’t have any bearing on this story really but I would as it is a really good read. If you enjoy a romance with a HEA I recommend this story.
