Beautiful Story

Amazing story from the brilliant writer of Wonder. Set in the 1800s, it follows the journey of 12 year old Silas Bird as he tries to find his father, a genius scientist and photographer who was taken in the night by three armed riders. Silas is accompanied by Mittenwool, a ghost who is his childhood companion, and Pony, a beautiful and unusual Arabian horse who was brought by the armed riders but reappears at the house alone. Although the subject matter would not usually appeal to me, I read this because I loved Wonder and White Bird. I was not disappointed. Palaco's writing had me gripped from the start and I thoroughly enjoyed the story, its twists and turns and the beautiful relationship between Silas, Mittenwool and Pony.
