Questo volume illustrato è quanto di più simile a un'autobiografia potrei mai concepire, perché il calcio è stata anche una splendida scusa per vedere il mondo, e più i luoghi in cui mi mandavano si scostavano dai percorsi tradizionali, meglio mi trovavo... Ne ho visti a centinaia di stadi, e di ciascuno ricordo un particolare, che sia una scalinata, una sala stampa o una tettoia cadente. Tutti gli stadi assolvono alla stessa funzione, ma non ce n'è uno uguale a un altro. Sono come persone. Ti sorprendono. Ti stancano. Ti fanno battere il cuore.
